Awesome on the front ramp. If you made optional under wing missile banks and gave it the ability to swap the front ramp with a missile launcher, that would be great too.

There will be weapons in the nose, which could probably be converted into a missile launcher.

We also plan to do weapons upgrade packs which include missiles and other kinds of cannon.

This will be a resin kit?

Are all those little dots where rivets will go (which will look good)?

You plan to release some pilots with it or leave the pilot compartment empty, or fill it in and it will be a solid piece?

The price will be about $140, which includes the shipping. The model is pretty much finished. We are just trouble-shooting the flight stand and putting together an actual production version of the kit to make sure it all works, then we will put it up for preorder by the end of the week.

The kit is mostly MDF with some styrene and resin detail pieces. Most of the top and all of the wings are designed to stay in place without glue and to slide out, giving you access to the interior and also to allow for future upgrades or options. There is no pilot model so that our customers can use a model in the scale and range they like best, although there will be some details inside the troop compartment and the cockpit. The dots are supposed to represent countersunk bolts, possibly the only aerodynamic feature of our dropship. There will be no rivet bumps.

Here is a blog entry with pictures of the completed outside (although the actual model will come with chainguns for both sides). Pictures of the interior to come as we find a suitable camera and photographer.

More photos are coming, including the interior. The cockpit has some (removable) details, but is meant to hold two 28mm figures on 25mm bases as the pilots.

I'm not home right now, but will try to answer questions and post pictures as I can.

We are working on the logo burning guidelines right now. We want to put up some examples, as well as have some legalese to cover ourselves. The plan is to burn the logos into the front plate, the wings, the back ramp (all removable and swappable parts for people who want options) and possibly some parts of the fuselage. There will be a $25 charge (and about 3 day addition to the preorder time) to adapt submitted artwork into a burnable file and alter the dropship design to include the logos, but the good news is that once we have your logo programmed in, we can burn it into bases for the standard cost of our bases, and for about $2 set up, into the landing pad and barricade kits as well.

Just send us a message if you want us to burn your logo.

Besides it looks like it flies on its engines like an f22 raptor, not prayer and trying to make physics laugh like GW's imperial flyers (the Valkyrie is a FW design and I consider FW a separate entity for designs).
It's a sci-fi cargo brute like the dropship from Aliens not a fighter, it can be a brick with wings and engines.

Well laser cut mdf or ply is never going to be what you want to use if you're after a design full of 3D curves,

but it works well for this

Here is our page for submitting your own custom design. Any design you submit, so long as it meets our stringent criteria of not overworking the laser programmer or getting us into legal trouble, can be burned into the dropship, the barricade, the bases, whatever. It is $25 to adapt your design, which means assigning depths and widths to the lines that are cut, as well as the pass order and well, a lot of other things that take time. Once we have your design, we can burn it into as many things as you want in an order for their usual cost, so 25mm bases with your logo would cost $10 for 30 and the barricade with your logo would still be $39.99 if included in the same order as the set-up fee. Once we have your design programmed, you can use it in any future order for a $10 prepared design fee, which covers burn time and some prep time.

We do have several prepared designs here, which are $10 to add to an order. For $10, we will etch the design you choose into every item in your order, such as the dropship, bases, barricades, etc.

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to let you know that we are shipping orders out now and have been, but I didn't have a chance to come on here and thank you all for your enthusiastic responses because we had more orders than we expected and have been busier than expected! The Hellbadger Dropships are each being shipped in their own boxes, so if you ordered anything else in the same order it will come as a second package and may have even been shipped already before the 8th. If you ordered multiple dropships, they will each arrive in their own boxes.

We have hit a major snag with the flight stands. We found out that we could cut the plexiglass and give it a very nice finish on the edge, but when we tested out the flight stands we found out that plexiglass tears through mdf like...well, like it was made out of pulped wood. We have had some success making the base of the stand out of thicker, sturdier wood, but it is very expensive. The cost of making a flight stand that can safely carry a Hellbadger through tabletop combat conditions is high enough that it would probably put the product price into the neighborhood of $60 to $70. That seems unreasonably expensive to us, but what do you think? If you are interested anyway, please let me know.

Would two flight stands that hold up one Hellbadger be more cost effective? If you could make a pair (wood or plexiglass) of stands for around $20, I'd think those would sell well.

I'll probably take a dowel rod and a trophy base and drive a large screw through them... looks good, holds up, costs less than $10.

Also, just assembled 2 Basic and 2 Full kits of the Sci Fi barricade set. Awesome (excellent craftsmanship, easy to assemble, very durable and very impressive looking). Made two forts out of the pieces for a Blood Gulch map at our club. I'll post pics Tuesday.

Food for thought

For about the cost of a Wraithknight, here's 4 sets on a 4x6 mat. The back edges of the landing pads are exactly 6' from each other, the mat just extends beyond an inch or two into space. These are unpainted, unprimed, newly assembled out of the box sets.

Needless to say, I'm pumped. Named this map "Blood Gulch"

I had been on the fence about the barricades, but that is excellent looking. Maybe after I get my dropship (if it ever ships - waiting is hard) that will be my next purchase.

We had a blast! Wave serpent jumped the walls and dropped off JZ with her banshees. Like a shotgun fight in a closet. It hurt but the Ultramarines prevailed. I made the wall impassable terrain, stairs real distance, ladders 2". Allowed leap downs on inside to still get saves, but outside at -1 no save. Doors were AV 13 HP 1 to breach, towers count as ruins. Worked really well.

Curious, do we know when dropships ship?
