Table size is 2x2 to 4x4, depending on scale of game. Devon is pushing level 12 as the standard, and I think that's what they used at the Gencon tourney. I would use at least 3x3 for level 12. You want to get into the action, but not prevent movement.
Things similar to Infinity I like:
Action point pool
Opposed dice rolls
Small number of models
Simple stats and a variety of load outs on the models
Things added above Infinity gameplay that I like:
Fatigue system
Faction optional
More dynamic melee
Variet of action points by model
Alternating turns
All models of relative power (no Metro vs TAG issue)
Things missing from Infinity that change the game:
Reactive turns
Link teams
Over watch/speculative fire

This kickstarted was a fun ride. Now I can´t wait to get my hands on some miniatures and start painting.
What do you think, which level is a good level to start the game? I was considering something between 6 and 8.

Pulp City is going to be giving us regular updates on things.
First up:
Update #69
Mar 6 2014
Progress Thursdays #1

Dear Citizens,
as promised, we will be delivering to you weekly updates until the last box is shipped from our warehouse.
First week is hectic, we had to divide and line up all creative work (scupting and painting) and nominate project managers for the book, the cards and the miniature production. This way we all know our responsibilities. All is looking bright, with sculptors meant to deliver final pieces in May.
The usual bottleneck is the display painting as it holds the card printing but we hopefully worked out a good plan A and a back up plan if painters get lazy
So what's to see this week? One of our Genesis backers, Ross, worked hard on his model and here we are, presenting you.... Attean!
If all goes well, maybe we can incorporate Attean into the add-on form and Collector Level pledges. No promises yet, but maybe we can find a little spot in the production schedules.
Hope you like him!
Update #70

An "oops" Update, sorry Antaean!

Note to myself, don't post updates before the first coffee!
The character's name is Antaean and it's ancient Greek for "gifted with superhuman strength".
At least that gives us a chance to preview another of the concept pictures that Ross sent.

I would start fairly low, starter level. So, 6 levels sounds about right.
And I would start without minions, leaders or powerhouses. Those are basically add-on layers that make for a steeper learning curve. Do some straight up fights; game ends when one side is Ko'ed. Get used to the basic game (Action points, fatigue, combat) then bring in those extra layers of game play with Leaders, Powerhouses, minions, and Plots and Agendas.
I'm going to try to fit a con in a couple months and demo. I'll only use Supremes (no minions or Powerhouses) and keep the level to 4 just to give players a taste of the system.

+1 to this idea
This is the best way to get a handle on the rules, and get you in the mode of learning your hero/ villan powers and effects, because things get pretty confusing in the mix, and then you add in the extra distracts, you lose ... opportunities with the fight.
Game is really pretty complex, if you get three or four heros going at it, then add in that you can effect terraign, add in minions, zombies, giant robots, or whatever... and your going to see how the distractions set in.

Hi guys,
thanks for the answer. I have the old starter boxes at home. So I could start painting them up till September. And if I stay with Lvl. 6 I´d like to play:
Heroes: Iron Train, Solar, Ace of Wraiths
versus
Villains: Guerilla, Hellsmith, Twilight, Gentleman
What do you think. Are those good starting opportunities?

Best thing about those boxed sets it gives you is the broad range of types of heroes/ villians. they have different abilities, and they are good to try out and flex on each other.
Then you'd end up adding in some others for support, and counters. They have some heavy hitters in there, and you can have some really good spreads of games with that batch.
Iron Train is a good tank, Ace is a good follow on sidekick type, for the bonus. Guerilla is... a gorrilla with a machinegun. whats not to like there?
Then you have 2 shooters, Gent, and Guarrilla who can sweep fire all over the field, with Twighlight as a good follow up/ finisher. Hellsmith is the villian tank, as well.
Good batch there.

Good Morning Citizens,
glad to report we are not slowing down.
Sculpting: we are still aiming at having 99% of the stuff sculpted in May, that will give us enough time to cast and paint everything.
Here's a couple of new pieces, including a phenomenal rendition of Ross' Antaean (he is a big boy at 45 mm!).
Also, some love for Minions and Heavy Metal. M.O.D. is still a wip.
Rules: Next week we will post all of the Supremes in a word file - so you can play with them. They will be in various stages of development, from final to post initial playtests. The rules are done and we are currently polishing the fluff bits.
See you next week!

If my count is right, Pulp City needs to sculpt 63 (at least) new miniatures this (half) year.
Six for the starters are done.
Grimmsham is done.
Five of the Powerhouses are done (Cro Mag, Ruth, Gorgoroth, Soul Golem, Amok).
Three minions are done. (Ankle Biters and MOD)
One Genesis model is done. (Antaean)
Mind you, the first 7 models were done pre-KS, but at only 2 weeks into the production phase, I think a Sept deliver looks like an actual possibility.
Cards are out next week for Beta. They will be used.

*shrug*
I had started the KS thread. Would have made a news thread when I thought it was relevant, but someone just changed the name and kept the thread. Its 6 of one, half-dozen of the other to me. Lets just keep talking PC!

He's one of the backer created models so he wasn't in the kickstarter. I'm probably going to end up adding him to my order. Looks pretty awesome.

Did you guys read that he's a 40mm Powerhouse that flies? Sounds pretty awesome already.
Will be interesting to see if he's in a faction, or even if he's hero or villain. Given the Latin root for his name, it's possible he's going to work with he Forgotten?

--Slug Moldoo listed
--all the Powerhouses and Grimm
--none of the new non-Supremes (Wonder Wight, White Tiger, etc)
--Red Bella is not a Leader
More to come as I read...

Hello Citizens,
today we got two big (or small) items for you to update:
First, below you will find the link to the most Supremes and Minions for the SE. These are still not final, we are playtesting them like crazy, especially the batches unlocked through Kickstarter. There will be some changes (for instance, all big Powerhouse OVR moves will cost 2 Fatigue now). Test them out, play with them and let us know what you think!
http://pulp-city.com/files/PC%20SE%20Supremes%20post%20KS.pdf
Second, all Grimminions save for the KS exclusive one are done and we post them with Gentleman and a standard size grimm.
Enjoy and see you next week,
Maciej

Hello Citizens,
some assorted news for our favorite day of the week!
First, good news for our French fans (and some Canadian, Belgian and others). We are teaming up with Cortizone Games to bring you the French rules translation as well as a distribution network in France! Merci!
Second, we started working with good folks at Warsenal to bring you the Pulp City tokens. It is something that will happen after the delivery of the KS, but we are looking forward to it! Check them out at http://warsen.al/ .
Third, our dropbox is constantly flashing with updates as Melvin puts together all the new cards. We are almost done with them, though a lot of them will have to wait for painted miniature pictures.
Just a sample of what we got coming (notice the double faction allegiance!):
Last but not least, we know you love miniature updates, well, this week treat this as a creativity assignement and interpret this picture!
Until the next week,
Maciej

Hello Citizens,
the spring exploded with colors in here and it seems this time it's not going away!
Time to show you some colors - Jolly Roger Studio team is working hard on all paintjobs save for grimm - I left that pleasure for myself.
Though technically not unlocked via KS, Papa Zombie is a part of the Coven pack so worth showing!
Now, to complete the grimm, here's the last two (I think - save for Grimmbun Bun).
Having painted already 5 of the new grimm, I gotta say I love these guys!
Yesterday we've delivered another huge batch of sculpts to MaxMini for casting resin prototypes. As planned, we should be done with all sculpting early May.
Once again, thanks for all the great feedback so far!
Maciej & The Team
I'm still not sold on the "Grimms" but maybe they'll grow on me eventually...

I dislike them less now that I'm seeing the sculpts, but they aren't my comic flavor. But, that's a valid point to their inclusion--Pulp Monsters have worked to have as many comic themes as possible in their game, from Space Aliens to Techno-heroes to Undead Walkers to Comedic Creations.
Again, Grimms are not really for me, but I can imagine they have the right feel some some others out there.

Hello Citizens,
the long weekend is here and a chance to invest more time in finishing up the fluff entries.
The cool thing about the fluff for Supreme Edition is that it is written from the perspective of a certain organization that watches our Supremes from afar and rarely intervenes.
But when they do...
That gave us a chance to order some new art and boy, you will have some fun seeing it in the next week's update.
So what's in for today? The Forgotten that didn't get forgotten. We are almost done with sculpting them, Stygian remaining. We are also finalizing the rules for them and they are a lot of fun, bringing something very unique to the table.
The big boy, Phanlanx (probably the biggest Support Supreme, nice change of pace from Virus, M.O.D. or other tinies)
And the finished picture of Wonder Wight, if you are more of a zombie Supreme type of a person
Enjoy the spring weather and gather energy for painting all these beauties in the fall!
Maciej & The Team
"Phanlanx" (?) is a nice looking miniature!

According to Maciej there are only 11 more sculpts to finish for the KS. I'm not sure if he's including the Supreme Genesis characters or not in that tally.
This thursday look for the pics of the upcoming leader for the Forgotten, Stygian.

Well, the pledge manager has not come out yet. I believe they are waiting until all the sculpts are done (and maybe painted, but not sure) so that the KS backers know what they are actually getting.
Speaking of which, completed Phalanx and a Hover Cat size comparison:

Yay, welcome to the 10th (anniversary?) edition of our Progress Thursdays!
Yesterday I've asked you on the Facebook which model preview would you like to see. First vote went to Stygian so there she is, in both of her forms:
I tried to keep the proper scale between the two. Just imagine your opponent surprise when Stygian sheds her human guise and assumes her true form!
May is the month of fluff for us, as we are doing some heavylifting for the Infinite Hourglass.
These guys run a full dossier on each team and Supreme in Pulp City but we do the writing! This should give you some insight into the future - we cover not only the already known Supremes but some future additions as well. As a teaser, here's some new internal art for the book, showing one of the Infinite Hourglass time travelling assassins, Herald.
See you next week!

Good Morning Citizens,
first, thanks to all that turned in their Pledge Manager, the sooner we got them, the faster the production may begin. Also, thank you for the questions and emails, as you know, we try to answer them asap.
We had a super busy week with the Manager but to set ourselves in a good mood, we started the week with a lengthy discussion on the storyline direction and boy, did we let the creativity flow. We need to set up in a way that teases the Next Big Thing in Pulp City.
A part of the big debate were the grimm, which, according to the Infinite Hourglass analysts, pose only a minor threat to the Universe. Those Heralds might be in for a surprise, cause not even Stygian is so close to the certain object of desire as they are.
So naturally, the today's picture update is a great paintjob of Grimmsham by Jolly Roger Studios.
Stay tuned for more updates and if you haven't done your pledge manager yet, it would be great if you could
