hmmm i still am contemplating the camopainting as a exeption to your rule...this beast would be maybe betterlooking without a camo job and rather with proud colors? weathering is mandatory for this hulk^^

But the camo paint will show the weathering better than just plain black will

thast is for sure... i just thought of more of a plain grey (as i always say blue^^) painted tank with a hint of maybe your green you use as aplication...then heavy weathering and rust... is this understandable?

I'm seeing sort of a sand color, like that tank in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Drybrush a lighter flesh tone on top of this dark base coat, add maybe some darker desert-style camo in places (WWI camo, not modern fancy stuff) and some good weathering... Any way you paint it, it's gonna look awesome.

Is it just me, or do those tow hooks seem a little... weedy on the Perin?

It is the scale of them, they are from a 1/35th scale Char-1B kit from Tamiya. of course they may look small and unreliable on such a monster like the Perun.

They aren't for towing the Perun, but for it to tow OTHER tanks, or strap on cargo...

The hooks are actually pretty big compared to a person, about the same as a head or so. a RL link like that would weigh in at about 20lbs

hmmm so you did a conversion with a twinlinked bolter too... i am curious about how you did the grips on the stubber...why are yours so laid back... well more then mine? looks good but i would like to know how you did it? and where did you get those different amoboxes from? the barrels look very convincing and a bit like vickers to me...really good looking!

It's just the one from the Leman Russ kits, that is the IG bolters/twinlinked.

oh... dind´t knew the LR has a Twinlinked bolter...well i did mine from a SM sprue and mixed a handle from a HW team...this clarifies that...^^

Apparently they gave the choice for either the Heavy Stubber or tl-boltguns for the Russ extras sprue^^

OOh undercoat is done ... all very neat and uniform , rubs hand for the painting . Are you doing your usual colour scheme mate?

This will get the same camo works,m along with more wear and tear! It is an ancient design, I am even going to include Imperial Fields for protections!

Those ammo boxes are molded on! each bolter is a paret with the ammo box that glues together near the trigger mechanism, and that makes the gluing all the more interesting as you have to maintain some pressure to make sure it does not fall off the pintle or adheres to it!

well i have my share of failed glue attempts... but as i saw this tank of yours develop during time i see now how good you seem to be with glue... all those angles you did on the trackshoes... this is glueing at it´s best^^

i feel that some days too mind you... early morning... too long stay at dakka and i feel more like fifty sometimes...hairloss and wrikles galore in my face too...what more can a man be a fraid of...guess having to get rid of ones collection could be worse^^
what did you then built all fresh and young? my first model was a cruiser ship (?) and i failed horribly since then... did the odd pane here and there but took me years to start making minis/models again...lack of confidence and all thse related problems...
so feel proud about a history (hurhurhur) of modleing succesful built models!

They were the movie monsters and space ships of the 1950's.

Yeah, and far more expensive than those days too! These were models for about 2-4dollars back then. I was even in the Model of the Month club for a while. In that, Revell would send in the mail a model that was selected to be the Model of the Month and a brown box would arrive with the kit in it. One, a WWI bi-plane was not cared for well and arrived damaged.

well you certainly have expirience in the field of modelmaking, so i think the logical step is to make your own models from scratch...and your efforts prove my musing right^^
