Dipping With Wood Stain

hi all,

So the other day I'm searching for my Eldar codex and where do i find it?  It was right next to my Wood Elf army book.  eldar -- wood elves,  wood elves -- feral eldar , wow, i can kill two birds with one stone.  I cannot stand the look of the Eldar model range and I'd rather get root canal work done than of put together a fantasy army.  I'll just use wood elf models to make an eldar army.  Brillant!!

I'm sure this has been before, but the best ideas are always the stolen ones.  anyway here's the list.

HQ - Avatar  (Orion)    :155 pts

HQ - Farseer (spellsinger) w/ guide, WB, shurk pistol     :75 pts

ELT --Harleys (wardancers) x 10, w/ kiss, death jester, shadowseer, master  : 272 pts

TRP --  Pathfinders (waywatchers) x10  : 240 pts

TRP --  Rangers (glade guard)  x10  : 190 pts

TRP -- Rangers (glade guard) x 8   : 152 pts

TRP -- Wraithguard (dryad) x8 w/ spiritseer (spellsinger) w/ conceal, Sspear  : 329 pts

HS -- wraithlord (treeman) w, shurk catapult, sword, ML  : 125 pts

FA -- Shining Spears (warhawk riders) x4, w/ exarch w/ withdraw  :212 pts

any thoughts, comments, suggestions on the list or modeling ideas are appreciated.

take care,

jsa

From an old guy... yes, it's been done, several times. Exodite armies in 40k. And yet, it's still cool... so do it again!

One warning: put the actual GUNS on all the models. Screw armour and the rest of it, just convert up the gun properly and put them on round bases. That should keep you in good standing with the judges.

I am the reason they put that rule in the GT books about full conversion armies... so take it from me: make sure your guns are proper 40k guns.

Oh, and Exodite info - the new Codex actually talks as much about them as any prior reference. They were just rough mentions in the old Yellow Compendium and other classic Eldar reference texts.

And the Chaos Hockey army actually had the proper guns... it was my GT1999 army that was a bit wonky.

when people ask, "hey, who's that guy talking to Whitt"?  I'm "that guy".  other than that i'm noone of consequence.  we probably chatted at a gt on ocassion.

if you ever played a person who used an army that looked like space wolves, but used the rules for white scars, iron hands, or deathwing chances are it was me.  the deathwing list had a nice army feature from philly 2002 gt (wolfguard termies and such).

my next project will be an empire army converted to look like dark eldar

take care,
