Quick reads leading up to new stories on Friday. Already published but now in e-book. Then new stories are, well, new I'm wondering if these are Patience and Speak Not by James Swallow. I'm stoked for those!
Otherwise James Swallow said in our interview these two new stories were for the anthology (since WWE is no new and we know 35 is Eye of Terra) I'm betting they will be printed in book 35 EoT.

I didn't realise book 35 was confirmed as Eye of Terra, interesting.

Probably means they'll do two full new novels this year then, one of which being Pharos.

"We are the Red Sorcerers of Prospero, damned in the eyes of our fellows, and this is to be how our story ends, in betrayal and bloodshed. No...you may find it nobler to suffer your fate, but I will take arms against it."

I'm hoping for four, including Pharos. But hey, one can dream

And the two new stories Friday are those mentioned. They've been dropped in the HH reading order page from BL.

Today's story

http://www.blacklibrary.com/all-products/the-sigilite-eshort.html

THE STORY
The galaxy is divided, but while his armies prepare for battle the Emperor himself remains curiously absent. In his place stands Malcador - legendary Sigillite, First Lord of Terra and regent to the throne - now arguably the single most powerful man in the Imperium. Army officer Khalid Hassan reports back to the Palace after a disastrous secret mission into the wastelands of Gyptus, but soon learns an awful truth about the destiny of mankind. Where do Malcador's true loyalties lie?

Been out in audio form for quite a while.

A good tale IIRC.

With regards to the stories forthcoming from Mr Swallow :

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

Picked them up and they are next, right after I finally finish this last chapter in Garro: Vow of Faith.

Another great story from Meduson is available as audio. The Either by G.McN is up on

And a new short from Gav, Inheritor, which I don't know off the top of my head if it's brand brand brand new or only previously published in sky writing over the Sahara laugh.gif
But I'm sold!

This got posted in the FW N+R thread by Atia.
Notice the bit about the Solar War- is the Black Library HH saga finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel?! Is plot development finally upon us?

Watch the "solar war" just be an attempted offensive by the World Eaters-Word Bearers that ultimately fails, before Horus' main push

I'm hoping that it involves setting up a staging post on Mars for the Traitors.

Not sure if its already been posted but one snippnet from Laurie G's afterword in War Without End is:
Mark of Calth (book 25) was roughly halfway through the series.

We are currently up to book 34 in the official list, meaning about 16 books left. Obviously BL don't give an official number to all of the books in the HH so I'd expect more than 16 books between now and then.

More innovation from BL. Yes, I know this concept is not new to the human race, but BL has been trying lots of new ways to deliver content so I think this is great, even though I've already bought these books and can't imagine I would be unhappy with it

I'm hoping the solar war actually makes use of the iron warriors. A single hook about fulcrum ascending is all the exposure they've had so far

You've also got Tallern Ironclad and Crimson Fist (Jon French) and that novella from Age of Darkness (Iron Within?) but yeah, Angel Exterminatus was the full novel. I'd love to see more development of the 4th.

Yeah, I don't do the novellas. I do buy the anthogies eventually but only one book seems to be about iron warriors not being special needs. They fail their fleet ambush. A small warfleet of them can't take an asteroid from a single loyalist iron warrior. I'd just like to see them more in their element and more of the Primarch.

But that deal might get me to try I Am Slaughter.

Tallarn would have been much better as a full novel. Easily trade Battle for the Abyss or Damnation of Pythos for a proper Tallarn book or two.

I'd trade Battle for the Abyss for another novella, I'm not sure if it is worth a full novel... That book just felt like I wasted my time and the only useful addition it provided was introducing a new class of battleship that features again later.

Yeah, great artwork. For me the best news from the weekender is BL starting the lit on moving legions towards Terra finally in this last Gauntlet arc. It's finally here. Not the end though. But if we get that Emperor model befor all the Primarchs or even demon Primarchs that might be a little weird.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
From BL editor on TFE

'Angels of Caliban' is confirmed to be coming soon. The release order for the next few books is:

34: Pharos by Guy Haley (later this month)
35: Eye of Terra
36: The Path of Heaven by Chris Wraight (April)
37: The Silent War
38: Angels of Caliban by Gav Thorpe

Other future titles were hinted, including the novel 'Praetorian of Dorn' by John French, and the Prospero-linked audio drama 'The Thirteenth Wolf' by Gav Thorpe.

Finally, there is a prequel audio drama for 'Pharos' coming later this month, to tie in with the novel. For anyone who has read the eBook already, this story will explain where Lion El'Jonson is, and why the Scouts were forbidden to talk about what they saw under Mount Pharos.

Totally - BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR...

I forgot three more vague revelations:

- James Swallow confirmed that he is working on a new Garro book, a full length volume in the numbered series that will look at more of the context surrounding the stories in the audio dramas, and what happens next. He knows how Garro's story ends.
- Chris Wraight is looking at several "legends of the Space Wolves" through the Great Crusade and Heresy, including "the one where Leman Russ has his first run-in with his most famous rival".
- Graham McNeill is working on another Magnus book at the same time as 'The Crimson King'
