Finally got the base assembled. This looks a bit rough, but it'll be all covered over and we won't see the rough interior cut out.

Oh, and if ya want, I could probably post my old salamander to you. I'm getting rid of my "Seraphon" because they ain't Lizards anymore.

The more important post today is that I have bought a small dremel.
I have now got the ability to drill and pin things to the base.

Starting with this broken chimera. And with it, a tiny Bluetooth speaker. I've been drilling holes in the side of the wreck to fit a charging cable.

And how are you gonna fit them all on a base with a reaver? I mean...It's not that big if you think about it...

Disregard the last bit, I just realized you had the chimera on the base you will be placing the Reaver on. It's a lot bigger than I imagined.

I will struggle, in all honesty. Trees and burrows mostly.

Oh yea have fun with that. I'll be keeping a close watch on this thread to see how on Earth you do it.

You might want to rough up that base quite a bit before you try glueing anything to it.

I meant for glueing down sand/gravel if that is your plan.

It's not going to be flat.
I'm building banks of earth and woodland on there. So the pins grounded in 15mm of acrylic will also be working as rebar for the banks and scenery,

Okay, we're starting to get to the point where you can actually see my progress.

Today I've been working on the feet again and got them cleaned up, and the various clips placed.
Once the glue has dried... It's time to airbrush metals onto all the areas you don't see once it's assembled.
While that's drying, I'll be clamping and puttying the chimera to the base.

You could see it better if I attached the image.

I can't get over all the details they put in areas you'll never see!
3/4 of this will be hidden under pistons and the shin guards.
I don't want to skimp, but damn that's a lot of effort for no reason.

I always liked that they put some much detail everywhere, if nothing else for stuf fto get giddy and happy with during the buiild even though a huge amount of it will never be seen on the finished product
