http://warseer.com/forums/40k-army-lists/102960-2-5k-mech-eldar.html It looks like a store in the phoenix area already played round1 and stated that no escalation was in effect for the 'ardboyz. I thought this would be interesting to some people.

Great, why don't you just scream to the world, "I am a big fat cheater". I mean trying to figure out the meta game is one thing, but getting the run down on mission types and special rules BEFORE an event and then making sure that everyone on the internet knows what obscure post / store website to go to so they too can cheat is pretty much over the top. How did you even find this post, it was buried deep in the army lists forum? Oh wait I bet you and Peter ( zero sports) Elias were coming up with a 3 falcon eldar list for this weekend. I mean why not, he's what did you guys call him, your "enforcer". Your actions not only label you, but everyone in that group you hang with as big fat cheaters.

Hey world, I'm a big fat cheater !!!!!! Ain't I sexy? now get in my belly. this is funny because I may know the toledo guys but I never play 40k with them as I live in seattle. cheating would be keeping the info to myself and changing my list. open sourcing is not cheating.

He's seems to be using the lower form of ethics that flows from the same school as "if I don't get caught it's not cheating". Of course it's a form of cheating, even with all the rationalizations and obsfucation.

Kesher, Your response was uncalled for. If anything he is leveling the playing field by letting everyone who reads his post know the same thing he does. Keeping it to himself would be much more advantageous. More importantly, knowing the missions to an event ahead of time isn't cheating unless you procure that information through some sort of nefarious method (which isn't the case here, it is a battle report posted by someone who attended an event). If anything, this information should be provided by GW before their events begin. It really isn't cool showing up to a tournament with an army type only to find out that the missions make it nearly unusable.

Also, this quote: but they also dropped the ball on sending us the missions, so we got homebrews. tells me that there's not much advantage in knowing what missions were played here; seems the lack of escalation is the only big news.

Wow - some of the views on cheating are significantly skewed here. Cheating or bad ethics involves using rigged dice, moving models further than allowed by the rules, taking advantage of your opponents lack of knowledge on rules or using wargear that your unit did not purchase. Cheating is not reposting information that has already be posted to the masses eslewhere. The playing field is being leveled here as Yak indicated. Instead of keeping the information to himself or the others on Warseer that found the thread, Skkipper did everyone here a favor. If you want to help the rest of the masses, post on other forums and let them know. Keith did his part to help, now instead of complaining, you should do yours. Rob - please note that Pete received 46 out of 50 sportsmanship in Chicago with 3 falcons. He also received 26 out of 30 in LA with guard. Finally - For anyone who wants to look at Skkipper's "three falcon" army list, check out the thread below. I don't know how I ever found it because it is buried deep in the army lists forum. http://www.dakkadakka.com/CommunityForums/tabid/56/forumid/14/postid/191007/view/topic/Default.aspx Keith - how many times do I have to tell you that your bloodthirster is not a falcon?

Cheating allegations? I think the "stuck with homebrews" and sharing this with all of us knock that out. Battle report with Eldar skimmering / eldrading to victory? Kinda boring, but I found the CHAOS TERRAIN table pretty entertaining as it mangled the pansies' little plans But that said, I'd hate to play on that table myself! - Salvage

And wouldn't it be funny if there was escalation in the later rounds even if it isn't in this one? So far this is just what one store owner was told by his trade sales rep. The sales reps weren't even on the same page when this was starting so who knows if he has all the information. And as pointed out he didn't play the actual 'ardboyz missions. Orion

I too can be big enough to admit that I may have over-reacted, however something about knowing things before you are supposed to in a professionally ranked environment does not sit well with me. I also did not mean to personally attack anyone, I just was repeating things that have been stated on the web in public in reference to everyones favorite 3 falcon eldar list. I for one do not want to know missions or even what other people are playing until I show up to play. Maybe i am the minority, who knows. Greg, I hope you guys made it through all the flooding in your area okay recently. Hope to see you in Baltimore in Nov.

Posted By Beast on 09/21/2007 11:55 AM Ah yes.. the always aromatic 3 Falcon Eldar list. Isn't that an anagram for Limburger? :-) I personally found it funny that the guy complains in his batrep about the Space Wolf army that he faced, with such gems as, "Also, just because something is legal for a list doesn't mean that it SHOULD be but was an oversight of the game designers. That is how I define (and despise) power gaming. And yes, Space Wolves can still be a winning force, but not using any methods I'm willing to stoop too."

Right or wrong a tournament was held ahead of time and that information is now public knowledge. Again, the only thing the original poster did was to make sure more, not less, people have the crucial advantage of potentially knowing there is no Escalation. Perhaps you should reserve your contempt for the phoenix tournament organizers?

No the missions are not available online... they were instructed ( local games stores) not to reveal the missions until gameday DK- I was posting what was mentioned to me by GW. I AM a local game store, hosting both the first tournament and a regional. As to reporting the store in Phoenix to GW and invalidating the support, where the hell do you get that attitude from, or did you not read anything? GW approved them running it early, and they didn't use the missions we are using today. No harm done. My advice to you, is go get an army, a large coffee, hit a store and have some fun. I'm working on 3 hours sleep, and put in 90 hours of work on new tables and scenery for this. I'm going to have fun if I have to brutally cripple every person that shows up to day. Then we're all going drinking, and if we can move after the pub closes, we are coming back to the store to play Apocalypse.

Where do i get the attitude from ? ill tell you from people not following the rules thats where and here is the direct email response from gw if you were so all mighty and informed you would know this "Ok here they are, but they CANNOT be shown to participants prior to the event. I’ll repeat, do not show them prior to the event or cool stuff like this will be a thing of the past!!!" so if they were holding the event early they showed it to the players before the official launch of the event.. period..... and anyone sharing any information is wrong period.. thats what is wrong it violates the rules of the event plain and simple and did any of you check and see if they actually got approval from gw to hold the event in advance? i know from talking to several people around my neck of the woods that gw wasnt allowing anyhting in advance. so my attitiude is based off of information from a gw rep.. where the hell do you get yours from? and here is the bad part of the whole concept how many people are going to go to the regional events and then go to baltimore for a one day thing?
