get yourself some Empire outriders / pistolier plastics and mix them with your basic Cadian plastics to make your roughriders.

I'm planning to do a unit of them soon. I'm going to convert space marine bikes with cadian drivers. There's also a dirtbike conversion floating around the web somewhere, I think it was on the UK GW site

A new day, a new time zone.

It's too bad Scout bikes don't have the riders done in plastic, because that would be perfect for mixing with cadians.   As is, with a little filing, the legs and arms from SM bikers work decently well. Trim down the handlebar shield, and the running board, and the bike's shape is slimmed down immensely, making it look quite appropriate for IG riders.

Not bad but I wouldn't go with the quad look personally... I just prefer the look of the bikes.

Here's my seriously WIP rough riders.  They're basically just cut down Marine bikes.

I prefer the look of the second one, with the Cadian arms but the legs are leaving a lot to be desired.

I'm very tempted to just buy a box of Empire Pistoliers and save myself a lot of work.

I have cadian Rough riders. You've now given me a great reason to buy a digital camara. I took some with a disposable but the pix sucked. My Cadian RR look awsome. They are on Orc warbikes. They work PERFECTLY. Also they are much less work than the space marine one which requires shaving off the power armor.

THe orc warbike need only that you shave off the face on the front of the handlebars. I then painted the bike in a khaki/catachan camo pattern to be in good theme with my tanks.

As for the guy, the legs and arms are to perfect scale with the cadian models. The legs even have that boot brace that all the cadians have, just paint it catachan green, or whatever color you use for your cadians. Then the arms have shoulder pads that match perfectly with the cadian shoulder pads. You need only the torso and head of a cadian. Then take the Rough Rider lance, and clip the back part off, right when the hand is, so that only that small part with the two prongs is left at the back end. (You'll see what I mean)

Then this just so happens to fit perfectly on the frame. This way your troop wont have to hold the lance in his hand, it will be mounted onto the bike.

For the RR SGT you can use the flag poles that the warbike comes with. Also I used that flat surface where the face was on the front of the warbike to place a large Cadian Gate decal. It fits perfectly. Its almost as if it were made for Cadian Conversions. This way my army doesn't get that circus effect and the RR actually look like they belong in my army rather than like some sort of allies.

I LOVE how they look. I could post some pics but they will be all blurry.

Scout bikes,  and Empire knights.  I won't lie, these are expnsive, but they come out incredibly, no difficult conversions either, just clean the pieces and assemble, leaving off the bottom bike plate and the bolters:

Happy hunting.

Those are very nice, however, ...Just my opinion on this, I think the cadian helmets would be a little more "cadiany" than those hats.

I think the Marine legs would work if you put a little green stuff on to smooth them out and lengthened the backs a bit to make them look like chaps with knee pads. That was the first thing I thought of when I saw the models.

Making the chaps assless is optional.

I've seen that look before and I must say it works. I'm thinking of doing it myself. Only difference is the lances. I think I'll just keep mine with lasguns and melta bombs(using ork stikk grenades) to ride around and harass light vehicles.

I've been wanting to do Cold One Rough Riders for a while (but Tallarn ones, not Cadian). Do the standard Rough Rider legs fit on a Cold One? Does it look odd without a saddle?

I've got a few done up on the original SM metal Black Shadow bikes (with rider legs I had from the IG biker days) they look quite nice, but I've also got a more high-tech (akira-styled) bikers as well as a few cadians riding velociraptors (cadians on 1/35 scale Tamiya velociraptors). The legs were sculpted unto a 'saddle' which fit onto the raptors.

None of my RR have lances, just the lasguns/special weapons and meltabombs (with the odd hairy screaming marauder head to give that outlaw biker feel to them.)

I'll see if I can dig up pics of them.

@ Captain Engelhardt - Nice looking stuff!

@ Breotan - That is the route I'll be taking, as I'm pretty sure that will be a new all plastic kit. I'm guessing we'll see a lot of these conversions soon after their release.

I just hope they are still around when GW gets done revising the Guard for 5th!
