Well I'm currently in the process of building 4 warhound titans and the choice of all the different weapons is rather daunting.
I currently own a warlord armed with a Gatling Blaster, a Volcano Cannon, and 2 Double-barrelled Turbo-laser Destructors.

I'm thinking that twin plasma blastguns on one, 2 with twin vulcan mega-bolters, and finally one with double-barrelled turbo-laser destructors.

I'm not really good with probability so I don't know the best weapons to arm titans with when shooting MEQs and GEQs.

Thanks in advance.

Wow. 4 Warhounds.1 Warlord. Nice.

I Have a reaver with that Plasma Blastgun, it rocks, so IMO go for a couple of those. Double-B-Turbo-l(DBTL from now on!! lol) Are extremely nice, however only against other Titans/SHV's.
I am not really liking the Inferno Guns, even with the nice large template.
An Idea with the Inferno Guns do work well at keeping units away from your Titans feet, which IMO is fairly important.
But as I am typing, I am thinking to myself.....This guy has 3 more Titans than I do, he prob knows about 10x as much!!!!!!! So sorry, I am not sure if any of that was useful or not....

Sure this isnt for Epic?

Take one for anti infantry weaponry, vulcan mega bolter and ingferno cannon. In playing games when you dont have enough points for all of them (quite likely), take that one to guard youir Warlord. In larger games expect to get less not more infantry, wfrom what I have seen 10K plus games are multiplayer and vehicles only (select characters,x monsters and termies excepted). Turbo laser and plasma blastgun seem ther best choices, varied enough but with some Strength D.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

Uh wow

Since they don't even make a warlord for apocolypse did you make your own or are you actualy talking epic here?

Ok from experience using apocolypse and the 4 warhound titans between 3 of our players(myself included),

The absolute best weapon you can put on a warhound

#1.Twin turbo laser destructors

Followed by some balancing anti-infantry firepower in the form of a vulcan mega bolter.

Don't be fooled by how cool the plsama blast gun sounds. it has high strength, good AP and a single big 10" template (fired at max power) , unfortunately the turbo laser out performes it in every way. 2 shots, high AP,  auto wound/auto pen vehicles. bonus to the vehicle damage roll. and no saves allowed aside from invulnerables.

P.S. in apocolypse rules all titans cost a flat points cost. all weapon systems  are listed as options (you must choose 2) but they cost no extra points.

I'm fairly sure its not epic, seeing as how the warlord is 5 feet tall.  I'm scratch building the hounds (I'll have pictures later).

For now here's some photos of the warlord.  Hosted by dakka's own kid kyoto

all plasma. unless playing HUGE battles where a laser destructor might be appropriate.

I would mix it all up.

The things can fire each weapon at different targets, you are playing Apoc with them, so A: you'll never really know what your facing, and B: the games for fun.

I'd want to lay down death in all shapes and sizes, so blastguns for the big template, inferno cannons for that bad larry teardrop and vulcan mega bolters for buckets of dice.

I'd get a Apoc missile system for that Warlord, then you can use the cloverleaf too!

He can use the cloverleaf for the gatling blaster if he wishes from time to time.

Very nice job on the warlord, though it is a little tall and out of proportion the model work is phenomenal to say the least.

I see we have some people here that do not have play experience with titans.

I started using the turbo lasers and since then everybody has switched over to them.

Little games, big games, it does not matter

It is a simple fact the twin turbo laser is the best possible gun you can put on a warhound titan using apocolypse rules.

You can mix up the second gun any way you want, but it doesn't change the reality in performance.

Top 3 reasons why the tubo laser trumps the blast gun in every way.

1.Destructor class weapon

2.More shots

3.Only roll to hit as it wounds or pens automatically. (and 2X 5" templates that don't scatter are equal to 1X 10" template ).

I've also heard a lot of good words about the turbo-laser from people who've used it. My Warhound has one (with a Vulcan Mega-Bolter) and will probably have its inaugural battle next month.

Turbo Laser is the best...by far. It's a shame, because I have a Reaver titan with 2x Plasma Blastguns, and my warhound has the turbo laser and mega bolter.

In reality though, why are we talking about optimising for apocalypse?

Orlanth - I built the titan to scale using the Titan graphic novels.
I've never understood why GW always talks about how big the shells are for titans but then makes them so tiny.

whitedragon - yes we're talking about optimizing for apocalypse. I'm running a mega game where it will be my titans and a few players against a larger dug in force of enemies and I'd like to not have the 8 or so enemy baneblades (not to mention tons of enemy troops) totally trump us after the first round of shooting. Besides, I'd rather not build crappy weapons on my titans. Its a lot of work to build a single weapon and building one that I'll never use seems like a waste.

I'd recommend two with at least 1 TurboLaser Destructor each.

The other two, I'd say whatever you want.

Mine has the TLD and Plasma combo, and it does the best of both worlds.

Thats not really the best build
The main problem is you have the twin turbo laser destructors which deal with vehicles and infantry effectively.
the plasma blast gun is a waste especially if your going after troops as it becomes a 1 shot wonder. i would rather have 15 S6 AP3 shots than 1 super shot 10" pieplate that i might wiff the roll on.

What about the rapid fire version of the plasma blastgun? I've noticed that y'all constantly reference the single shot but not the rapid fire version.

I guess in that case, if they get the first turn, it's probably not going to matter what your titan is armed with anyway, as it will be slag by the time you get to use it...

Its effectively the same as the twin turbo laser without being a "D" class weapon
therefore not as effective and for anti infantry work 15 shots is still better than 1 or 2.

The main reason the single shot is discussed the most is because it uses the 10" template which has a certain "intimidation factor".
