I slapped this thing together a few weeks ago. It's made from a Hammerhead, Piranha(well, boosted the airintakes from one) and a defiler(knees, elbows, waist). The idea was to keep it as "Tau" as possible, by using Tau parts. The whole idea sprung from having an idea looking at a hammerheads front, and the segmented armor plates in front of the turret, started looking like chest armor. So, I couldn't stop myself. Don't expect to see this painted untill sometime after X-mas.

As for what it's supposed to be, I'm planning on playing it as a revenant titan, or hammerhead, heck might even VDR something for it. It's "only" 21cm high tho, with a revenant being 30cm(so FW says) to the top of it's head fin, but I'm pretty sure I'm compensating for length with bulk.

And please, lets not discuss if Tau have titans or not, I've been ther, got the T-shirt with burn marks and bloodsplatters...

Cheers

Is that Chrono?

I like the piece for what it is. If we were allowed to discuss Tau titans though I'd say I want to see a super-heavy armadillo type vehicle.

Good work

It looks good, and is a great conversion, but doesn't say "Tau" to me. It says "Decepticon".

-=Edit=- Yeah, what Necros said.

I like it, Decepticon or not.

edit: that leviathan thing is to much battletech for my taste.

Thats a really cool build you've done there... Reminds me of Robotech/Gundam Mecha. Oh yeah and transformers too

Fellblade,
Did you butcher an uber rare Horizon Battletech Madcat to create that?? (Sacrelige!! )

I prefer this look to be honest.
the gundam look really isn't for me once you get past the small suits. I don't know why it would have fully operational arms... none of the other Titans do.

Meh. That bottom one looks too much like a battletech mech. I like the original posters better.

Yeah, I gotta agree, that one, although quite badass in it's own right, screams Mechwarrior...

Too bulky to be properly Tau...I never liked Gundam either, but the streamlined form of the posters conversion really snags the techno-supremecy of the Tau alot better...

Disclaimer: That is not mine! I had nothing to do with it, other than remembering I saw it once upon a time. I have no idea if the base Mech is Horizon or Armorcast, but I believe (based on the missle racks and the arms) it was originally a Vulture, not a Madcat.

As for Jutami's, personally I'd like to see a couple of engine pods attached, to make it jump-capable, like an oversized battlesuit.

Also not mine, but I'm a battletech nut, so I can say this with Authority.

It's actually both. The Legs are interchangable between the two mechs, the missle racks and arms are indeed from a Mad Dog/Vulture, the main torso is from a Timberwolf/Mad Cat, as evidences by the "block" that normally sits behind the main cockpit section of the mech. Also I'm 90% sure they're armour cast, and it gives me terrible pains in my wallet just looking at it. :p (of course, I wanna get an Atlas and make a "counts as Warhound" )

I still think this is a great build considering it started out as just a devil fish and got hacked up. I plan on trying to do one just for the fun of it. Great job and look forward to seeing some paint on it eventually.

Aye, their both great peices of work, but I've gotta go more with the original one. It seems to capture the essence of the Crisis Suit more. Tau never struck me as Mechwarrior wanna be's.

The tau aren't really a "titanous" race. The preference for tau should be larger vehicles like the Manta and so on. Thats really what I envision for the tau.

What are the weapons going to be?

Generally speaking I'd agree, but this thing from the railguns etc looks more like Knight-sized than Titan, and I find it completely legit for the Tau to have something like that as basically a bit battlesuit.

And I just like the look of this a lot. It's ace.

Funny enough, the one everyone says looks like a battle tech mech, is actualy based on the Mad Cat model. The legs, missile packs and torso and arms are all from the mad cat kit. Tau guns and the devilfish body have just been added to give it a tau feel.

Regardless, back on subject, I think the legs on ou titan need some work. They are really skinny once they come down from teh thigh area. They just look like they are ready to snap off if the thing ever actually lands. Beef them up a little and it will look perfect.

It looks like a Decepticon, but a really COOL decepticon. I could envision some Firewarrior hero strapping this thing to show the greater good to some Ork Stompas. i am righteously impressed-you've captured a sinister look that I think current Tau suits are missing. Anyway you can miny size the idea for normal suits?

Normally I'd chastise you for a necromancy, but I didn't see this the first time around, and it's cool. Doesn't strike me as Transformers off hand, but I'm more used to the newer ones. Looks like anime for sure, which is what Tau are, so I think it's dead on. I'd have put an Ion Cannon on the other arm though, rather than just two Railguns. Now paint it!

Don't care for the Mad Cat one. Don't get me wrong, I love the Mad Cat, it's my favorite Mech, but it just doesn't look Tau to me. I barely even register that it has Tau guns, it's just too Battletech for me.

P.S. I reserve the right to steal this design when I build my Tau army.
