Necrons seem to be left out of the super heavy arena, so i put togeather this: Necron Tombhold
using it as a pylon at the moment, but would like to hear from fellow gamers ideas.
Not been able to find VDR rules for living metal cost??

Very, very cool.
The Necron additions to the VDR are found in the old Chapter Approved Annual page 75. You should really check it out (if you can find it) because it has all sorts of nifty Necron VDR crap.
But FYI, Living Metal is +50 points.

Holy shnike, thats awesome. I've hazard that you just used two monoliths. Either way its a superb example of how much better a modeler with imagination can do better than the standard GW monolith and pylon which pale in comparison. I was floored at how essentially simple the design is and how much better it looks than the two cron armour pieces. And it just oozes way more menace than a stock monlith. Be sure to post the rules you come up with for it. Perhaps including a small nodal grid radiating 6-12" from it would be cool and fluffy too. It would add a hefty point increase, but would probably be worth it and add a lot of fun.

I'm not sure if they're floating around anywhere or if anybody re-wrote them, but years ago they had rules for "create your own vehicle" that were pretty amusing. Awesome job on the build, I'd love to hear about how it does on the tabletop.

I don't know what is going to be attachtet to this one but the first stage doesn't look very promissing. I don't want to be negative but it is just a half monolith with wings.

I like the gun pods and the boxy shape. It does look like a flying monolith (in a good way).
The crescent shape was big in BFG for Necrons. I wouldn't scrap this attempt, but it's a good president and alternative.

Cheers for the comments guys. wasn't too happy with the Flyer at first as it did just look like half a Lith with wings..... Not too keen on the crescent shape of the BFG ships. not in keeping with the whole pyramid theme. The infantry all are based on the same basic chassis, i thought the vehicles would be also.
Done some more work on said flyer (now to be known as a Pharaoh class fighter)
will post more pic later

A group of us are going to GW HQ in Nottingham for a 16000 point battle Guard Against Necrons.
Many scarabs, Warriors and Monoliths will be fighting along side Pylons, Pharaoh class fighters and the Tombhold.
Will keep you informed of the date if anyone would like to pop along and discuss tactics. should be a good battle.
will put pictures on here of how the battle went.
My scratch built Baneblade might also turn up. BOOM ,BOOM

Niiiice scratch built bane...
i'm trying to work up a design similar to the bane, but for my bro's Frag Hags army. instead of a front mounted Demo cannon, i'm trying to work up a massive melta weapon ('on account of how much the girls like to set fire to things) with an exorcist launcher on top. should do a fair amount of super-heavy killin'.

Looking at your VDR rules I was thinking I'd never seen a flyer with such huge armor. So I hoped over to the online VDR app and was messing with Necron flyers, and it looks like highest combined AV is 44 for flyers - so 11 11 11. Did the crons get some exception to the armor rule? I will note that there's no living metal upgrade on the online app, so not sure how complete it is for necrons ... Anyway, I made an 11 11 11 flyer with long-barreled gatling heavy gauss and 2 gatling gauss cannons (cause your model has two of them on the wings!) and came out to 400 points even (380 with your weapon config). Let's say you're house ruling it for extra armor and adding in 50 points for living metal, and you're looking at way more points than 310 Or maybe the online app is way off. Regardless, I like the backend on that flyer, with the portal drives and underslung gun, and the plasticard pulls it together nicely. Just one thing, if the belly gun is long-barreled, why not double the flux arc barrels? Otherwise it's the same actual gun as the wing cannons, which would make me want to go with all gatling gauss cannons (so 3 total). So if you can break the armor constraints, I'd suggest, based on the model, going 13 13 13, 3x gatling gauss cannons, living metal, many points. - Salvage

thank for the info Salvage. not been able to find a necron vdr application, or one that sticks to the original VDR rules.
Keep getting Different points values.
where did you get your VDR App from?
would love to get a copy.
Upgraded the armour to compensate for the living Metal rule.
also was no mention of the Lightning arcs or Gauss Annihilator as its such a new weapon
Agree with the belly gun needing to be different, may have to double the lengh of it.
If any one has a suggestion about what armour or points cost it should have, i would love to hear.

Looks to have little for Necrons beyond the 4 gun options. I dunno about the lightning arc being so great on a flyer - wouldn't it have to park on top of stuff, basically? - and the arc is pretty short range too. Storm of gauss shots or heavy gauss tank breakers is where it's at.
Moving beyond VDR might be the thing, I guess, to accomodate more armor and such.

I want a pic of that Inquisitorial Baneblade! I am starting a scratch build from a 1/35 tank kit, and planning on tricking it out for that Witch Hunter look (no, Salvage, it's won't be "Barbie Dream Baneblade"), and I would love to see what you pull off.
Edit: By the by, is there a convenient way to get the definitions for some of those vehicle attributes? (Gatling and the like.) Alternately, does all that go out the window with the new Forge World Apocalypse book?

Another missed opportunity. I am still sad that you passed on pink sisters to go with the standard goth red/black/white
Gatling - 1 shot = D3 shots
Long-range - +50% range
AA Mount - rolls BS against flyers (not just 6's to hit)
Mega - +1S, -1AP
Blast - no template = 3" template, 3" template = 5" template (and Studder and I have talked about letting 5" template = 7" APOC, 7" APOC = 10" APOC)
The last 2 sexy ones are for warmachines only, and I think there were other restrictions applied for small arms vs heavy weapons, etc. There are several missing from the above - short range (-50% range), slower rate of fire (-1 shot?), twin-linking, co-ax - that are either not as cool, bad to save points or obvious.
