Title about says it all have about 40 more figures to paint 5 sentinels, 2 chimera, 10 more rough riders on new empire horses. and a few this and thats. The trays are for deployment I am still working on the trays for the rest of army -- I do not think it is fair for a player to take lost of time deploying.
This army started with 2 of the box armies way back and once bitz order was up I ordered the meat of troops in the firing pose.
It wont win painting awards but looks sweet on the table as a whole. Still need to add camo to tanks and front of las guns kinda plain with out it.
Played 4 games of 4th with this army then no one played in my area/group
Bane blade isn't finished but had to add as it is my 40k grail kit (one of them at least)
40k picking back up in area and hope 5th edition is sweet... Doubt I could get model cost back if put on ebay.

Wow, nice army. Very distinctive look to it. You should definitely finish it.

All in all, fact is that Warhammer 40K has never been as balanced as it is now, and codex releases have never been as interesting as they are now (new units and vehicles and tons of new special rules/strategies each release -- not just the same old crap with a few changes in statlines and points costs).

You have to hurry up and finish before the next edition/codex makes half your army illegal/impractical!

I'll race you with my SWAT team army.

That is a sweet army! Looking at it and all I can think is Michael Caine in "Zulu."

You have done a great job. Please finish this.

I play Praetorians as well and one of the many reasons you should keep playing is the "oohs and ahhhs" your army will get not just for being great looking, but because it is so rare.

When I play in tournies or at the local FLGS, I always get a crowd of onlookers who have either never seen or have rarely seen this army.

Your army looks great and I am already stealing ideas for my own :-)

I heart SYR 8766

For all your bravado, if the US Army decided to invade, Wisconsin is it?, in force supported by a heavy bombing campaign for the month before, weeks of shelling from battleships on Lake Superior, and a full tank thrust (crushing the cows beneath the treads), I don't think that your .22 is going to make much of a difference really... Asmodai (my new hero)

At some point these sorts of decision-making skills lump you into the same camp as the Lehman Brothers, the White Star Line shipping company, and mothers who smoke during pregnancy.

The FIRST thing I thought was "Man, someone has to model up a bunch of orks like Zulus!"

Those look really great, I gotta say. A good understated paint scheme, on nice models, based just the way they should be.

Agree with Atra, Whitescar et al. Praetorians are just a beautiful and rare army and it'd be shame not to finish.

Besides, you can use it in GASLIGHT when you're not playing 40k!

you should sell it...
...now
To me...

Seriously, it is very good looking and the advises I can give you are:
-give yourself small goals (I must do this 10 man squad before [insert date here]).
-play a game, it's a good way to be motivated
- organize a "Painting day" with your friends.

You Sir, are one talented, lucky one. Your army, and praetorians in general, are great! I'm so fortunate as to known an Praetorian player, though he has never gotten to finish his army. Like the rest of the gents here say, there's really no reason for you to not finish this. It looks great, and the movement trays are pure genious!

You'd make kitteh cry if you sell this army.

Once you finish, be sure to post a picture of your army that shows EVERYTHING. I want to see the entire army at once so that I can have a better Idea of how Ginormous it is. I can sypathize with you on how tedious painting platoon after platoon guardsmen can be, but I aslo know the feeling when all that time and work has yielded an awe-inspiring horde of well painted models like this one.
Also, I really like the storm trooper conversion (Or maybe they're grenadiers), even though they don't seem to have much armor
Keep up the great work.

My brain is so weird. Every day a new obscure word will pop into my brain that I forgot I even knew. Half the time I can't quite remember exactly what it means--all I get is a 'feeling' associated with the word. Today's word is 'lurid'. No surprise that a synonym for 'revolting' came to mind while my sister was listening to some kind of hip-hop or modern pop music...

I too have dug out my big Praetorian Guard Army and have decided to paint it. i was thinking of doing it in a non-traditional paint scheme, and am glad to see someone else taking the initiative to do that. Will look forward to seeing it finished, and I hope my army can turn out to look half as decent as yours.

Dude, I <3 your guard. Seriously, finish that stuff up and get with playing it. My only remark is maybe you should use some green stuff and model reins on the horses, otherwise it looks like they're holding their d**ks.

Very nice. I definately think you should finish it.

As someone earlier said, finishing it is rewarding in that it is a rare army, and will draw many stares and compliments.

I am working on a large Tallarn army, so I too know what you are going through

By the way, I love the bases/displays you have made for the squads, really ties the army together exceptionally well.

I did finish painting the army and sold it a while back on eBay-
the back packs on the stormtroopers are old space wolves scout packs and the plasma is a obliterator plasma tip placed on the lasrifle with tip cut off and a purity seal to hide the ugly seam.
Painting is cad red with calvary brown then leather read wonder washed then reversed lined.
