I could pick out a bunch of individual nice pieces that I like on this, but it'd contribute too much to what might end up too long of a post anyway. LOL
I like the yellow with the black outline on the piece. Very nice...I also like the plasma arm. Definitely away from the usual with that.
Overall, this is quite a nice piece and, if you only remember one thing from my post, then just remember that.
Now some constructive criticism.
I HATE the green around the base. Personally, I'm ALL about the black edging or, failing that, a tasteful brown.
I just can't stand that old school green.
That's nothing to do with your talent, though, obviously. Just about color choice.
Your SW decal looks like a SW decal, not a chapter marking. It has that "shine."
I'd try to gloss, then matte seal over it. Failing that, I'd use it as a guide & paint over it.
I like that you used grass on the base, but I have a personal pet peeve about models that are painted but their basing materials aren't. Unless you're painting a mini so that it looks as if it will just walk away on its' own, and looks 100% natural, then I think you should paint your basing material. ALL parts of the mini should match in style, IMO.
I think you used too many colors on the wiring/hoses at the chest plate on his front. I'd have gone with 2 & alternated. It's a SLIGHT distraction.
As I said earlier, though... All in all, it's guite a decent mini and I'm sure it'll look good with the rest of your army. Thosea re mostly just nitpicky little things above.
...except the green.... the green edging must DIE!

Eric
Thank you for your comments. The green basing is a bone of contention around here as well
If i feel so motivated i may well go and paint the logos freehand but i was kind of in a rush to get that one done before the end of the day.
Again thank you for all of your comments

The green grass isn't bad at all...mileage way vary, I would say.
Second the green base, though.
Very nice mini, don't get me wrong!

I disagree. I like the green basing. I've never been one to put much stock in the "that color is so passe" argument.

It boils down to how GW used to always do the green basing.... right up until City Fight. Suddenly, it's passe to have green.
As much as GW would like me to, I'm not going to build 3-4 different armies that are exactly the same with different base colors just to placate all the fanbois.
As an aside, it's ironic you like the green bases, but your avatar shows a space wolf with a brown base. Funny that

Its a very clean, crisp paint job. Good intergation of the FW plasma cannon.

I like it
even thought it may be your camra i like the sutible blue you have used, it not as in your face as most painting i have seen it doesnt seem like a patend miniture it more like a picture - it has realistic hues. Also i love that plasma gun and the lightning bolt insignea full of win as well!
One suggestion - the wires on the sacofages have to much variation in coulour, choses 2 and go with it ( this may jsut be me thinking OMG how their gonna know which is which, i got a qulifacation in electronics only one in 5 years to get an A* go me )

Since my wolves are my oldest army next to my white scars, they are done in green. The Wolf lord from the 13th company is done in brown, each army a different color. It just happens that my wolves are green.
I appreciate the comments. Have to think about the wires though, first time i have ever been told i did too much

I like it - nothing especially flashy about it, just a solid paintjob. The yellow and black add just enough contrast to it. My only real comment is on the decals, but Eric's already suggested a couple possible remedies that I can't better. Good stuff!

Just wanted to say "Thanks" for the comments and drop a little more information on a couple of things. I fully intend to remove and hand paint the decals. Sometimes I'll slap them on just to see if I like the look of them, before I spend an hour (or more) hand painting them on! As far as the 'green ring of doom' goes, all of my Wolves are based in the same green. Each of my armies (16 and counting) gets it's own base color, chosen to help set off the minis. None of them, currently, is based in goblin green, which is the color GW used on EVERYTHING until a few years ago. LOL!!! Thanks again!
