Hi,

I had a quick skim and couldn't see this issue anywhere...wondering if it is just me.

I log in then look at posts on the forum, when I try to reply I notice that I'm no longer logged in.

After some research i've found that for some reason the forum logs me out on the second page of topics.

When I choose login at the top of the page it jumps me back out to the section list...i click the topic still logged in fine...but as soon as i skip to next (whether pressing the number or the arrow) it logs me out and I can't post.

Could you try clearing your cookies and then click 'logout' and then login again? What browser are you using (what make and version?) and are you using a proxy server (if you are not sure, what ISP are you using?)

Thanks

Hi Legoburner,

Tried the clearing cookies thing then logging out and logging back in. No change. Certain posts I can post in. Others I become auto logged out on when going to the first page, yet others only log me out when going to the 2nd and further pages.

I'm using the newest internet explorer 7 release.
Actually come to think of it i've only noticed this occurring since the new explorer was rolled out.

I'm accessing this site from work, (government agency)which uses several firewalls, I'm not sure of the ISP that they use but it would be a large commercial one that allows for massive mega-giga-whatsits of internet traffic. No proxy server as far as I know.

Thanks for the help.

OK,

After thinking about it logically I reasoned that it must be something to do with the stored files so I had another go.
Just went in and deleted everything in the browsing history (not just cookies) and now everything is working fine.

Thanks for the support.

I'm glad you have resolved the problem (less bug fixing for me )

Hello,

Unfortunately the bug has come back.

I cannot go into a topic on dakka discussions and post a reply successfully as every time I click the forum button I get logged out.

All the other sections of the forum seem to be working successfully for me.

Have you already tried the cache and cookie clearing fix? We did an update the other day, and if you were logged in at the time we put it live (even if you didnt notice it), it can mess up your settings a bit and forces some people to require a cookie/cache cleanup.

Yes I tried the cookie clearing fix. It didn't work, though something I failed to do (stupid!) was to close the browser and re-open after deleting cookies.

I logged in today and everything works.

If I have any more problems in the future i'll follow the: Delete cookies/cache + close/re-open browser operation.

Cheers,

Hello, I've had this same problem too and managed to somehow fix it, by selecting the 'log me in every time i use this website ' option.

Worked for me.....

Good to hear. Thanks for reporting, I'll continue investigating to try and make it a less common occurance.
