Pretty nice scheme. But I am not sure what you were trying to do with the interior. If the top is removed to see the interior, then you also see the raw sprue parts on the bottom and other raw-looking things which detrct from the overall interior effect. IMHO, I would go further with the interior finishing if you want it to look as nice as your exterior. Overall though it is nice and I like the fade-away zig-zag stripes.

The interior wasn't intended originally. When I was putting it together i noticed that the top was removable and there were spares so I just threw somthing together. The sprues don't show up too much when it's actually in situ and I just felt bad wasting the opportunity and the spares I had lying around. Just wanted to get a bit more moneys worth out of the kit lol

I realy like it. I like the camo scheme w/half looking like it was half masked off & the rest w/ovespray effect. The tracks & bogies, I have to say it looks very realistic. I fix bulldozers & excavators for a living. My only comment is if your fluff for your army is from a more sandy terrain, maybe try a VERY little bit of silver or steel drybrushed around the edges of the grousers or cleats (sorry the tread pattern part) & of course thier's no dirt or sand packed in between the bogies (sorry I had too)

Thanks for the feedback shrew! Very constructive. Fluff wise it's just a bit dusty (standard way I do my tanks) but do like the silver idea, will do a little of that when I get to touch it up. As for sand in the tracks, does anyone know a good way of doing it? I've tried before by painting glue and then sprinkling, but never looks natural enough to me so I tend not to do it. Pleased that you like the camo, that's exactly the look i wash going for (masked and sprayed) even though it was done free hand!
Seriously, that's great feedback, appreciate it.

Thats cool I'm glad you appreciate it. As for the sand/mud in the tracks I've never seen it look right in/on a model yet myself (I've never tried to do it) I even had an article from Fine Scale Modeler on how to do it & I think thier's looked like crap IMO.

This earn' me my 2nd place in the local GW painting comp in the large category, winning a half price gamesday ticket wuhoo! Have a dilema in my head though, it feels like I've won back 1/4 of the money I spent on the thing - great, but that's womens logic as I've actually spent an extra £15 on the ticket (wasn't going at the full price cost!) :S

Looks really nice man! I would be proud to field that bad boy along with the girls.
Shrew has a good point about the sand in the tracks issue; I have yet to see it done believably as well, since getting sand fine enough that it looks to scale with little tiny men is tough. Maybe you could stain flour and attach it to get fine enough grains. (Perhaps in reverse order.)
With or without though, that is a really fine looking tank.

I've been using baking soda (bicarbonate of soda, I belive it's called across the pond) for weathering effects, as it is very, very fine. It comes in white, which is handy for snow, but it is also really good at picking up colors. If you want to make some sand, I would take some soda in a little box, add some chalk or pastels in brown/tan, and crush 'em up into the baking soda with a knife. I was doing this to get dirty snow, and it worked well. You might have to do a bit more mixing for sand, but it should be fine enough in the end.
Now, onto the model itself.... KICKASS!
Looks really good, and I love the scratch-built interior. One thing that could quickly and easily make quite a big difference, I believe, would be to take some Badab black or watered down black paint and wash the hinges, lines between hatches, etc, to bring out some of the detail.
Anyhow, looks great as is!

Fantastic tank man. I've been tempted to build the interior myself after my dad pointed out the huge space inside is perfect for it. Nice to see it done.
I think the paint job is great, especially the rust work.
How did you do it? Just dry brushing a red-ish brown?
I've recently got hold of some Tamiya Weathering Master powders (they look like a ladies makeup compaq but with manly Rust, Mud and Gun Metal in instead lol) so will give those a try for my vehicles.

You're interior detail is great - nice to see someone take the time to model that up! And the effects on the spotlight are understated, but effective. I also am digging the camo effect with the spray fade - particularly over multiple plates. Look great, man!

I personally just finished the last few touches on the lighting to my BaneBlade, now I only need to give it a wash and put photos up for you guys to see. Love the work you did for your tank, I wished I could have done interior detail but the entire inside is taken up with wiring and batteries.

thanks for the comments all.
Apone - the rust is simple, I spareyed/painted the areas black, drybrushed with brazen brass, followed by a lighter drybrush of boltgun, then washed with scorched brown/black/blazing orange mix. Sometimes it also helps to add bolgun to the wash, and add various amounts of each colour until you like the effect and it shows over the base coats. I've been tempted to try the powders myself, but tend to stick to what I know for the time being, saves a fiver
Death By Monkeys - interior is made from scrap sprues, and spare armour plates from the tank plus a couple of other places. The 'spray fade' is actually hand painted - paint a rough line where you want the stripe, drybrush lightly back from it, building it up until it's solid by the line, and then go back and repaint the line to neaten it up where needed.
Ghost in the Darkness - sounds cool, waiting.......
as far as all the sand comments go thanks for the ideas. Have tried a few before but I tend to either be unsuccesful or just don't like the result, hence I paint it on and drybrush dust over the top. Am looking out for a good way that works though.

Here are some pictures of my BaneBlade. With the Leds on. I had help with the wiring from 2 friends of mine 1 who is a red shirt and 1 who is the manager of a Radioshack. Its power source is from 2 D Batteries in the center of the tank.

The only problem with trying to put LEDs into the lascannons was the fact that after replacing the targeters there was very little room left in those turrets and I couldn't find any smaller LEDs. All the materials were from Radioshack and if any one wants to do a project like this on their own feel free to PM me and I'll send you a guide on how to do it. The next Baneblade I do (not happening any time soon) I will take plenty of photos throughout the work to show you guys. I recommend that if you light up any tanks to paint it first then install the lights. I did the Baneblade like that and it saved me from getting paint on the bulbs and ruining them.

when i tried it years ago I put the leds in first and bluetacced over them while painting. A netral (brown/grey) wash over the leds can also work wonders and help tem to blend into the model, rather than looking like leds.
