I saw this thread a while ago

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/118682.page#118682

Which in turn was inspired by http://bearsbears.ytmnd.com/

And so I pretty much was required to make this:

It's a Prowling Cave Bear from Wargames Illustrated, with the legs of an Imperial Guard Rough Rider and a valhallan gunner torso, armed with an RPG-7 and an AK-47 from The Assault Group, sitting astride a saddle and reins horribly sculpted by me.

I plan to make more as soon as I can get more bears of this size, but Wargames Illustrated seems to be out of them at the moment. Are you allowed to put cav on a 40mm base, and are the monstrous mount rules from White Dwarf still in effect? Cuz bears are pretty monstrous.

Thats Awsome...

Where'd you get the AK 47 I've been wanting some for my IG army. thats sweet.

As for the rules I think you can mount them on anything.

The rules not sure.

You are generally supposed to put Rough Riders on Cavalry bases. That said, I've personally taken to using Lord of the Rings models for my Rough Riders, which are on 40mm bases. (Somebody's got to buy the LotR models)

Modelling usually makes a a bad impression on first sight but when you paint them everyone will be like: "OMG, r0ckz0rz!". Or in case of the enemy: "Well we are pretty f***ed right now."

The Assault Group (www.theassaultgroup.com/) makes chunky 28mm modern weapons.

Dragon also makes 1/32 plastic weapons including AKs.

This set up goes together so ridiculously well, it has to be fattening. Straight to my thighs I tell ya!...ahem...Football!

Where was I?

I'm just taken aback by how well all of the components fit together and how great they all look as a whole. I'm really interested in seeing this guy all painted up and finished. A whole squad will look absolutely amazing.
