here is a tau titan that i converted from a toy and gw bits. the weapons have been magnetized so they can be changed out. i am selling this on ebay so you could buy it if you like it. just search for tau titan and it should pull up. there was a thread about using this model a while back and thought others would like to see the model i made. i really like how the head turned out, i scratch built it from plastic card sheets and gw bits.

Amazing work. Unlike most Tau titan conversions I've seen, this actually looks like what I'd expect one to look like; one big ass crisis suit. I'd love to see it once its painted.

Moz:
You: "Hold on, you rammed, that's not a tank shock"
Me: "Ok so what is a ram, lets look at the rules."
Rulebook: "A ram is a special kind of tank shock"
You: "So it's a tank shock until it hits a vehicle, and then it's a ram, not a tank shock, and then it goes back to being a tank shock later!"
Me: "Yeah it doesn't really say any of that in here, how about we just play by what's written in here?"

That's pretty dope, Werewolfhunter. As opposed to just looking Manga-ish, it really does look Tau. Nice job with it!

thanks for the comments. i picked up the toy and wanted to convert it back when i was playing tau. but sadly it got put on the shelf, then i was helping a friend get into 40k and sold him my tau army. i was cleaning up and found it again. so i pulled out some of my extra tau bits i had left over and got to converting.

I really like that you have magnetised the weapons.

Not sure about the rocket launchers on the legs but otherwise great work, a model that could concievable be a tau titan.

I actually really like the leg-mounted rocket launchers - gives it sort of an anti-personnel frag feel.

thanks again for all the great comments.

i really like the missile launchers on the legs too. i thinking about a death-blossom attack, firing off all its missile at once hitting all surrounding targets.

Very very good!! Most conversions with bits on something looks just like that, "bits on something". This looks real. Cant quite explain what I mean, but Im totally impressed. It feels real and all the things on it fits so well together! Would love to see it painted

Wow, "death-blossom" - there's a term I hadn't heard in ages. Yeah, I can totally see that.

i was going to throw the name "the last starfighter" out there but i wasn't sure if that would show off my age to much
so i figure it would be good enough to have death-blossom. i just love the sound of that.... makes me all happy inside.

While I do not, philosophically, agree with the concept of a Tau Titan (a Heavy battlesuit about on-par with a Carnifex or Dreadnought is about the biggest I can see them doing) I can deffinetly appreciate this model as an excellent execution of the idea.

Not 100% the quad thing does it for me, but it doesn't look bad.

Many a Sentinel pilot has hesitated to call his vehicle a walking coffin after battling beside a Dreadnought.

My only question is.....can it fly?

If I had to beat an arcade game with high score in a trailer park to actually fly one of these....I'm so there!

I don't really know, but Kotobukiya makes some really nice 1/72 Armored Core models that can really pull a similar look off with minimal converting, and are about the right size to be a small-medium sized titan. I have 2, and they're beautiful models. You can also buy individual weapon and body-part sprues, which could come in handy when building a titan.
