Well here is my DG blog i felt like creating a Death Guard army as Iron Warriors arent exciting to paint for me and nurgle offers fun moddelling ideas andcolour schemes.
This is the first time ive used green stuff ever, i hope these turned up ok and look nurglesque. Also i hacked at the models with a pair of cutters.

Thanks Drdeath666

Looks good. Though I see one glaring mold line. Cool one big horn on the side of the helmet. Id go over it with a small round file though ones the GS is hard. Round file for shaping the horn and then a flat one for the tip to sharpen it.

Good stuff man. I guess it's hard to go wrong with green stuff and Nurgle, but a certain degree of skill is required and you've nailed it so far.

I've only used green stuff once, to create a Strigoi Vampire conversion which looked a little comical in the end (I can try and post a picture if you like). Any tips you've learned through the first trials? Tips on home-made tools would also be useful.

Keep it up all the same, and make sure to show them when they're painted.

I really should be spending my time more constructively.

Thanks guys, yeah would love to see a pic of the Strigoi .
Not much for tips atm tho lol i have found a tooth pick and pin work well for making holes and stuff so i sticky taped them together but thats about it, i also used the GW hobby tool.
I am painting them at the moment, so pics will be put up soon. With the mold line is it on the shoulder pad? If so i just noticed it to lol. Thanks for the tips with the file aswell.

Thanks

I'm all up for limited pallettes, but i think these guys need a little more definition. Maybe a brown wash to really bring out the detail? I'd also use a dirty gold/bronze on the trim, but that's just me.

I really should be spending my time more constructively.

I'm thinking a brown or flesh wash over the armored bits and maybe a purple wash over the infested bits.

I agree with the need for a contrast colour here, they're great once you really look at them, but it's hard to define details, and will be especially hard to do so on the table. Nice touch with the glow effect on the plasma gun, you've pulled it off very well, but again, it would look loads better in a contrasting colour.

Thanks guys finally some C&C lol on my other blog i didnt get much. With the Inks i have done the devlin mud wash on a few areas but i shall try it on all the armor. The purple wash idea sounds good ill have to get my hands on some lol. What contrasting colour should i do? im thinking about a purple colour for the puss boil and im thinking about using a gore effect on the first ones crotch rot. What do you think

Well, in art theory, red is the direct opposite of green. Maybe paint some areas scab red and highlight up? Could look like open wounds, cracks in armour etc. Alternitavely it could just be a colour for the weapons.

yeah i have hacked out parts of the armor so i could add it to that and to parts of the infestation

I would second red as the contrast colour. Try it on armour trims, not just nurgly bits, it might help give more definition to the figures, and frame it nicely.

There will be another update soon (i am at school atm lol) but for the metallic parts i have added a rust effect to them. I achieved it by blotting blazing orange and bestial brown over the silver then drybrushing it with chainmail and it looks good. With the red i have added it to the parts on the guns that were originally green and have added it to the sores aswell . Also for their eyes i wasn't sure which colour to go with but i tried yellow and it seemed to go well I am still yet to get my hands on a purple wash probably wont happen till thursday. I do have warlock purple is it possible to turn it into a wash if i water it down to hell?

Thanks

i like them. im trying my hand at death guard with gren stuff etc so i really see the skill involved!

one thing i would say is although the paint looks good...it is all the same colour and could do with something to break them up. other than that i really like them. you gonna do vehicles etc?

Nice greenstuff work. And the green looks really good! However, they are a bit too green in my opinion. They need a nice contrasting color to really make them pop. I would reccomend some subtle red and soft pink colors on the fleshy areas, then give it a nice devlan mud wash.

Cheers
