I started this back in 2nd edition with 30 or so models.
Have repainted that 'orrible lot (minus some stealers) and added a few more.
Comments and Critisism welcome, accepted(possibly) and hopefully discussed!

I really like, and am impressed by the Broodlord you have there..

Other than basing him on a 40mm base.. is he pretty much a Basic genestealer, with scythes and claws, reversed in typical order.. with a slightly different paint scheme?

I am seriously thinking about ripping off your ideas for the Broodlord and the Biovores.. I saw the WIP ideas for the Biovores and liked em then.. and now am motivated by the Broodlord.

the broodlord is the current broodlord model with the tail inverted and leg tabs cut and repositioned and pinned. Quite simple and makes him stand more like a genestealer proper!

If you're still working on them, the paint could be finished a bit smoother - perhaps hit with a coat of GW wash or thinned dip?

Otherwise, if you're going for sexy, how about adding some markings on the Carapaces? Kind of like in the 40k4 Rulebook. A deep Crimson Red would complement your basic scheme very nicely.

Nice looking army! I think 'Nids look good in natural colors and you've done a great job with these.

I hear what you are saying about the thinner paint that is something I have to work on, in my defence I didn't strip these models before repainting and wanted them fairly quick so admittedly they are a bit rough. markings would be good too. I was thinking about that re: a few subtle variations so that I could split squads for smaller games.

I know that there are 4 elite choices but I tend to make the deathspitters into
one unit of 6 all with scytals.

I've got 3 more carnifex, 3 tyrant guard and a new tyrant on
order plus 8 more unpainted stealers. That should make somewhere
near 3000.

Also just recieved my Sabol Army Transport, It's ACE!!!!
If anyone was thinking about using this for nids, wants more photos or is
wondering what thickness of foam I used for which models just let me know.

Nice bug army you have there, the only thing I dont like is the mouldlines on many of your models... I know its pain to clean a bug army so many limbs and spiky bits.

very nice, i love the older figures, i have used so many of the claws, bits etc to add character to other armies. have not yet committed to the nids simply because i paint so so slow id never get them done.

Cheers for that. I thought they matched up pretty good. As for no rending claws I just thought they looked
pretty goofy (too big)! Genestealer claws fit nicely but I didnt have any going spare so scytals it is!!

I've not got my 5th edition yet but rending doesn't seem as good, +d3 ap if 6s rolled (Don't shout I may be wrong)!
No more charging a dozen stealers at the front armour of a Leman Russ, Oh well!
