Hello again.
As promised, here are my infantry, every one of them converted. About 10 are still WiP with painting, but at least you can see the details better than if they were all black. Again, if you want any more pictures, just ask. Sorry about the lighting quality and my lack of explanations. There are a few versions of the paint schemes, mainly, some have shiny armor, darker fatigues and messier paint jobs from my first attempts. EDIT: most of my first ones also have carapace sculpted on. I've given up on carapace, cameoline is so much better. 3+ cover save in most cover None Shall Stand Before the Might of the Imperial Guard!

1st Squad A Platoon.

2nd Squad A Platoon

A Platoon Command Squad. Led by Lt Price. So-called because he has mutton-chops. These are mainly models that were left over. I am going to arm them differentially when I get the chance.

1st AF Squad. I'll probably make them part of a Platoon later on.

Command Platoon. +a left over flamer. Cpt. Lapsely is named after my old cadets CUO. It's illegal, but not many people mind and I don't play in tournaments much. The snipers are going to be part of a 'ratlings' squad.

The master vox. Lots of people ask about this so here is a picture of the back.

The sniper at the front is my favorite model. He just fell together really well. The leg is from the iron warrior arm holding a Lascannon.

My army's grenade launchers (minus the old school one). Inspired by the shotgun tutorial on dysartes.com

AF squad heavy weapons team. Just so you know how it works.

And finally all the SGTs. The two on the right were some of my first models.

The bases are inspired by the 'Tandaris Outbreak' articles in WD. The snow is inspired by my only experience of snow in London or somewhere. Dirty slush. It was still fun to throw at siblings though.

That's a crazy storm bolter that Sgt. has. Crazy! Nice use of the shotgun tutorial, too. How did you do the hat on the front sniper? Is that GS or is it a head swap from another model?

Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack

yeah, the hat is GS on a sgt head. The stormbolter is from the CSM vehicle sprue, with all chaotic imagery filed and scalpled off, and it uses grenade launchers for the drum magazines. A lack of normal grenade launchers from that conversion led me to make the underslung grenade launchers.
Thanks for the comments.

How difficult was it to get the hat right?

Not too hard. I'm pretty rubbish at sculpting normally. The hardest bit was the rim where I had to flatten the top and bottom at once and it fell off at one point, but I glued it back on. Just so everyone knows as well, I got the FW cadian rebreather and veterans w. shotguns upgrade packs.

How did you make those sniper rifles?

I'm a huge fan of the wounded sgt with the grenade. The only thing i'm a bit iffy on is the paint scheme, but thats because I like my colors brighter. good stuff man, good stuff. What doctrines are you using?

Wow, nice stuff. The effort you put in really shows 'em off.

Finally, some more replies. Thanks all for the comments.
@Shattered Soul: I used larguns. I cut and filed the gun sights off and did the same with the barrel and the pointy bit under the barrel. I got a laspistol, cut off the clip and then filed it so it would join up neatly with the lasgun. The scope comes from that scope bit which you are supposed to put on the mortar. Any gaps were filled using gs. And please remember to send the photos, I would like to give instruction on how to make my halftrack.
@wasserrj: I use cameoline, sharpshooters and iron discipline. I'm not sure what else to use, but i'm tossing around using stormtroopers (or grenadiers in chimeras) and close order drill. I used to use carapace but then I realised that cameoline is so much better. I've never really liked bright colours on guard, it breaks one of the main rules of combat. It's better not to be seen as it means they can't shoot at you that well. But yeah, it does make them rather drab.
@Arkion: Well, I wouldn't know much about effort. Mostly I just sit at my desk for hours on end with all my bits in trays and a strip of blutack. Many of my conversions came about through pure serendipity rather than careful planning. (although many might argue that careful planning is essential for it all to go wrong, the first step on the road to serendipity)

well this is an old thread now, but how did you manage the Grenade Launchers under the lasguns?
