Turn 1:

High elves get first turn and move a hidden group of swordsman forward 10" to try to threaten the Dwarven Cannon and the other swordsman unit wheels behind the rocks in an outflanking position in the middle.

Archers try to shoot the organ gun but fall short in range. RBT both fire volley's at the thunderers and kill 2.

Bottom of Turn 1:

Dwarves wheel Warrior unit on far end to meet the advancing Swordmasters. All others stay put.

Cannon fires at RBT but overshoots by 10".

Turn 2:

Swordmasters move forward toward the Dwarf Warriors that advanced out. Archers on far right side move off their hill to get in firing range to the Organ Gun.

Archers fire at the organ gun but fail to do any wounds. 2nd Archer squad fires at the Warrior squad with GW's and kill 1. RBTs fire at the cannon and kill 1 crewman.

Bottom of Turn 2:

Dwarf Warriors charge the swordmasters and the other Warrior unit advance along with the Iron Breakers.

Cannon fires at the RBT again and kills 1 crewman and does 1 wound on the warmachine.

Turn 3:

Swordmasters Charge the Dwarf Warriors right infront of them. Archers move forward 5" in order to get in range of the moving Organ Gun.

RBT Fires at the Iron Breakers and kill 3. Archers fire at them too but fail to kill any.

Swordmasters kill 3 Dwarfs and Dwarfs fail to kill any in return. Swordmasters still lose combat and fail their leadership check. Fleeing but caught by Dwarfs (Ouch!)

Turn 4:

Phoenix Guard move forward to meet the approaching Ironbreakers.

RBTS take aim at the Iron Breakers and kill 3.

Bottom of Turn 4:

The far and lone warrior squad march towards the chapel. Thunderers move forward to get in range of the Archers.

Cannon Fires and kills 1 Phoenix Guard.

Turn 5:

Phoenix Guard charge the Ironbreaker squad.

RBT Kills a few of Warriors right infront of it.

Phoenix Guard get challenged and Caradryan Accepts. No wounds inflicted on each other! (HA). The other 2 nobles on the otherhand slay 3 dwarves and suffer no wounds themselves. Elves win combat by 8 CR (I Rolled a 6 on my battle banner to add to CR!) Dwarves fail, run, get caught, and are destroyed (bye bye thane!)

Bottom of Turn 5:

The far and lone warrior unit advance around the chapel to get closer to the archers.

Thunderers open fire on the archers and kill 3.

Turn 6:

Phoenix Guard wheel to face the Cannon to reduce the number of cannon bounce hits.

RBT's fire at the thunderers and kill 1, bringing it below half.

Bottom of Turn 6:

Thunderers return fire at the archers and kill 1. Organ Gun rolls a 10 on the fire chart and kill 4 phoenix guard.

Result:

A solid victory for the Elves! With the dwarves being outranged and facing elves that were operating in small single file ranks to deny cannon shots. The dwarves cracked under pressure and were forced to advance and move forward.

With Archers threatening the Organ Gun and Thunderers the Dwarves player was forced to move his artillery/ranged units as well!

The elves with their superior movement were choosing when and where close combat would happen. The game was over when the Phoenix Guard charged the Ironbreakers and won combat by 8 CR, breaking the dwarves and catching them in pursuit. That was an expensive squad with their Thane as well.

Hey, thanks for posting, but I can't quite make out what happened in the last three turns. The pictures would be great as a supplement, and I like what you're doing with the shooting lines, but I can't get the whole story from them.

Who won? Looks like the elves maybe? Any lessons learned?

I cleaned it up a little bit and consolidated the pics on one post.. also finished the battle report after turn 4 and added some "aftermath thoughts"
