I still have lots of touching up to do, and the likes....

But here is my home made vanquisher. Like my demolisher [hell hammer cannon], I used this spare barrel to make a vanquisher with a spare turret...

This is bringing my 10 Leman Russ Chassis to the potential of 1 vanq, 1 annihilator, 1 exterminator, 5 standards, and 3 demolisher types... [so I can do a anni or a normal leman, basically]

Almost ALL my tanks are recovered/rehashed/looted by my mercenaries... so its not meant to look clean and fresh cut... almost orky [the bolts proove this] but still human... wait until you see what I am doing with some of my other lemans for 'extra armor'.

I like what you've done here. Gives me an idea as my second baneblade will probably be the hellhammer.

Yeah the Hell Hammer barrel is a nice one. I just wish GW sold more tank barrels or redid the russ barrels.

Looks good. My only addition might be some plasticard on the sides of where the barrel meets the turret, to make it more believable that the cannon does move up and down if needed. (Not sure if that makes sense...)

Could we get an image of the whole tank, either side on, or from the top?

It´s a bit difficult to judge the length of the cannon from these pictures.

just a quick idea, i think some supports on the barrel might work, something that large has to weigh a fair ammount.

Maybe you could put a large counter-weight on the back of the turret. Something like the Firefly.

Aye, a counter weight I'll likely do... support would be pointless...

Also, the barrel is almost the same length of the forge world Vanquisher barrel...

As for being able to move up and down? Plasticard + green stuff = barrel covering at the joint...

Yeah a counterweight would be good, and I'd also do something to widen the turret - the standard turret doesn't look big enough to hold the breech and a crew - unless of course you change the turret to look like a crewless autoloading turret (remove the hatches and add mechy bits)?

Actually, ALL the Leman Russ guns are WAY to big for their turrets... and the Bane Blade barrel is actually the same size barrel as the russ, but with extra bits on the outside, hence its 'larger' but the actual hole and main barrel is the same for the most part.

Imagine the size of the casings for these shells... These guns, if the models were true to actual scale, are like 18 inch deck cannons off a battle ship. Firing a round that large should technically blow the turret off....


I'll widen it SLIGHTLY while adding more detail to the turret-barrel end meeting point, and Ill add more to the back to counter it a bit, but not going to totally redo the turret.


Seriously though: GW needs to stick to more realistic barrels...

It's heroic scale.

Take it for what it is and worry about something more important. Like what Horus should have done to defeat the emperor.
