So it seems Dark Eldar are in desperate need to get a new codex. 75th for what Normally is an army that does well in tournaments?

These reports kinda confirm my suspicion that 5ed did a number on the Tau as well. Granted there were only 5 Tau armies there, but Mech Tau always does pretty well, not this time though. I fear it will only get worse for the greater good as the next few waves of codex come out.

I think that Jayden's standings are overall, not just for battle points, which are probably a better hint at army strength.

Also important is what was the meta-game? Were victory conditions and missions played as per the rules, or were there additional victory points for other accomplishments? Was there a significant amount of terrain on the tables? Buildings?

Who did the Orks play? Daemons actually finish second in battle points. Witchhunters did well, third maybe in battle points? Was that St. John?

Nuts, I just bought 5 boxes of Terminators for Black Templars, and they, well....

Results are also skewed by the winner's performance. 100 points probably means 4 crushing victories. The beaten players probably couldn't do much better than 75 points. So, good players may have finished well back in the pack.

I'd love to know what was in the Daemon army which did well, my son was wondering whether to do Daemons or Orks.

Then I'd like to hear from the pundits, was there any way to beat Marc's army- or is there just too much Orky goodness to play against? I'll hand it to all the Dakka players, they were sporting enough to post their lists well before the tournament...

Congrats to the 40k Wrecking Crew. Stelek may have taken 3 games, congrats as well.

Top Battle Scores at a glance, 80 points or better.

Orks - 100
Deamons - 89
Eldar - 84
WH - 83
WH - 82
Deamons - 82
Chaos - 81
Orks - 81
Eldar - 80

The missions were all kinda like th book

game 1 - seize ground/pitched battle

game 2 - annihilation/spearhead

game 3 - capture and control/pitched battle

game 4 - seize ground/spearhead

game 5 - annihilation/dawn of war

If you won by a larger margin, you got 17 points, if you won by a small margin 13, if you won a tie breaker 11 and if you tied 8, losers got 3, 7 and 9 respectively.

there were two other side objectives in each mission worth a total of 3 points

100 battle points was 5 perfect games. 5 massacres with all bonus objectives.

I probably should have stayed for the awards... who's ever heard of a best sportsman not hanging around to pick up his trophy? :( ugh... I don't think I'll ever live that down.. but my ride was leaving

Scott Simpson who dominated the GTs with his Tau in 4th, didnt do as well in 5th that also cements my suspicions that Tau need some help in regards to changes for 5th.

No, most armies were 4th edition lists and not built well for 5th.

Marc, John and myself had the skill and the lists built properly for 5th edition.

Marc and I ran self-sufficient cover save armies with the ability to torrent of fire you to death.

John ran an army built to maximize vehicle survival in 5th and negate cover saves entirely.

I saw alot of armies get overrun by the demons, then the demons get destroyed by mech lists or bad rolling.

Few of the Tau lists were even semi-competitive.

None of the Marine lists were even that good.

Most of the rest of the armies I saw were well intentioned but not very competitive.

I hope to see better armies in the future.

Favorite Opponent is the guy that received the most votes from the people he played as their favorite player.

Player's Choice was the army that received the most votes from players in attendance as the super-neato-awesome army in the house.

Best Sportsman is the guy with the highest Sportsmanship score, followed by Battle Points as a tie-breaker.
