And here we go the finished Manticore.

Ungefelic, Mantichora from Darklands

I really love this mini and tried to do my best painting that I could on him. I've had him for ages but have been really scared to paint him in case I mucked it up.

So what do you think?

Cheers

Stunning work on the manticore. The tawny fur looks great. My only issue with the model is the joint of where the wings connects looks small and flimsy, but that's the model itself. Great work.

Awesome manticore. Great colour, made me chuckle how you showed te dog with the same colour, like it had a hulk moment.

Those Darland barbarians are awesome too.

Cheers Theo, the joints do look a bit small in comparison to his bulk now that you mention it.

Thanks Archer, I'll have to get a group shot of what I have painted so far in a little encounter.

The monsters in Darklands do go up another size to the really big hitters, but they are about £100 each. They look nice but I probably wont go upto that size.

Lovely job with the Manticore. Really nice lion pelt! He looks like he's been juicing- serious muscle on him! Quite liking the mane as well.

I'd add a wash on the manticore body, to have a bit more contrast, but otherwise it looks good. Nice colors, and the model is sick. I had never seen this manticore before, it's a great miniature.
It's really impressive and should look damn good on the table !

----------------------------------

This weekend has been an assembly weekend, I managed to get a bunch more Darklands assembled, there's still a few things left that I didn't get round too. They all need GS work apart from Ffion

From left to right on the front row Warrior Ffion, Bard of Gwynedd, Skaadi the Moraine Sorceress and Krekkek, Bull Sávrakh
On the back row Khallas, Hydrakh of ýdron and Mórannach, Beast of Cill Chonn Bog.

The only one of this bunch who is in line to be painted at present is Ffion as she goes with my dragon guys I've already painted.

Next up is still the sculpting for the Ghoul's base as it's not warm enough yet to undercoat them I keep putting it off, I hate sculpting but it must be done so I have two forces to fit against each other for Kings of War, my Wood Elves are getting bored waiting!

Have wanted that Bog Beast since I saw the sketch, appreciate seeing just how bulky it is against that wee marine. Dig Skaadi as well ... and all of them, who am I kidding?

Not much to report back on this weekend, haven't done much painting.

I assembled some Dark Age minis and painted a Wastrel from Malifaux and thats about it. I did play a game of X Wing which I took photos for so will have to write a mini bat rep up this week. I've also been having major computer issues this week as well, had to restore from the operating system upwards due to a NVIDIA update corrupting it, much stress was had

Here's the lone Wastrel, I've got three more minis from the Relic Hunters set to paint, they are kind of fill in minis when I have a spare few moments.
