As you might know we live in the golden age of plastic miniatures. A buddy of mine just sent preview shots of Wargames Factory colonial brits with IG and they work.

Not my usual thing but it's good to know it works.

Now when are my NATO vs insurgents figures coming out...

Not too bad....

Hope there is a good Pith Helmet to Cloth Cap ratio. If so, then on with the (sort of) Praetorians!

What will people do with the bodies? Just accept it as a variant uniform, resculpt with greenstuff or use the plastic brits with lasguns?

So OK with a converter's eye here's what I see.

Guns are attached to the right arm but the left arm is open. A swap with a las gun is possible, failing that you could attach some tech bits to make the rifle more 40kish. Or just go as is.

I see 7 heads and it looks like the pith helmets are a different bit! So there are option of leaving them off.

In all they look more useful for 40k than the plastic American Civil War (or War of South Treason as we call it).

Looks like the scale is dead on, the second example maybe slightly short-necked, but definitely workable either way. Would like to see high-res pictures of a whole model next to a Cadian, though

The supply does not get to make the demands.

I definitely dig the side cap. I think those would look good even in a regular non-Praetorian IG army, on some staff officers or NCOs or something. Or tank commanders!

The pith helmet certainly works scale-wise too, but I would like to see a paint scheme or some other equipment that makes me think more of a tropical uniform. As it is with just the head all I'm seeing is a Cadian with a pith helmet. I do think it's a cool, workable idea though.

Here's my first...

This figure is WF standard body and head. The shoulder strap bits have been cut short to come level with the area the arm has to be glued on. Both arms used are from a GW Cadian sprue and have just been hollowed out a bit with a round file (the type used by modellers around the globe). I specifically have chosen for a position of the arms that didn't need any filling with putty, so it's just:

- cut the shoulder straps level with the body
- file out the GW arms
- glue together & paint

Something any wargamer should be able to master...

Those prices make them cheaper than buying Empress Miniatures' separate heads. Crazy that 20 plastic helmets will cost $14.95, probably £10 when they get to blighty, but 4 metal helmets are £3. I had considered getting the Empress ones to make Praetorians. The Mordian IG are still available from GW, so just head swaps needed. Looks like I'll get the WF ones instead.

Aw, crap. I was happy with my 2 squads of Praetorians and now this pops up. There may be an all Prateorian army in my future whenever the new IG 'dex comes out.

Thanks for these pictures, looks like the scale is pretty close, maybe slighly smaller than the plastic Cadian yardstick.

That would be the War of Northern Aggression, yankee.

They are exactly the same size as the metal Mordian figures. As soon as I have some more converted, I'll post a comparison pic here.

It all depends on what side of the mason dixon line you were on. Here in the slave/border states, it was the war where everybody came to our house for the party!

???

What do you call it when officers reonounce their oath of loyalty to throw in with seperatists?

Besides you can't be an agressor against your own country, traitor.

You calling George Washington a traitor?! I'm pretty sure you just violated the Patriot Act, mister. Just sit and wait for Homeland Security to show up.
