I never collected an Ork army and thought this was a good place to start.

Ork warlord from the box seemed too static for an ork warboss!

comments welcome.......

The shells flying out for the deffkopta looks superb. Could you take a photo from a different angle so that we can see how you've done it?

Keep up the good work!

Very cool Warboss. The standard pose looks like he's waving his arms in frustration because Da Boyz aren't following his plan!

That shell effect is awesome. I'd recommend a quick, darker highlight on all of the shells so they don't get lost with the metal on the kopta.

Also, your warboss is sweet. What is that, a bathtub plug? Only thing I would change is the orky face that holds his tabard; it draws too much attention from the rest of the green (his face and arms, which are more important), making the bottom half pop too much. I would go with something metallic, or a darker, different color.

Very cool conversions... the Warboss is pretty intimidating now. The only thing I can think of would be to paint the shell casings (awesome idea and execution, btw) brass instead of silver... shell casings are usually brass colored, and it would help them stand out from the 'copter body, making it much more obvious what they are.

Cheers guys all comments are welcome.

Will indeed paint the shells brass, not sure why i never thought of it! lol

this is why i like the forums, lots of great input!

the "Belt buckle face" was originally metallic but seemed to "clean" tried different colours and liked the green for some reason.

The "Bath plug" is a plastic tube link holding a marines helmet, a friend has a marine army with an orks head key chain! so i did the same!

Also the Minigun on the defkopta, I forgot to glue it and after found out it spins round!! Jobz a good 'un

Did you glue those shells together or thread them across a wire then glue them???? I'm gonna steal that idea as well!

The bit stuck on the side of England. Wales isn't it.

Love the conversions. I have 6 more deff kopters to do myself , so I was interested in seeing how other people took on the challenge. Great job you did of it too. Love the shells , although I will give them a miss , due to the fact that often drink is taken during our games and mistakes have been made in handleing before , so sturdy and strong is allways the watch word.
The only thing I don't like is the yelolow and black stripes on the boss. It reminds me of 2nd/3rd ed space marines. Black and white checks for me , traditional to the core.

You would be surprised how strong the shell cases are.

Because they are attached to the hand/arm its just like a single piece of plastic rod.

you can easily pick up the model by the shells alone!

I like the conversions, the flying bullets are ACE, but I don't like the skin on the Warboss. Is that a wash? Is way too heavy.

Great job on the flying shell casings! Also the exhausts replacement is a nice and easy conversion that will make the Deffkoptas less cookie cutter when you put a bunch down on the table. Job's a Good 'Un!
