Heres a peice I've been nit-picking at for a bit, just a basic wasteland with some meteor strikes to it, or spots where blast weapons and grenades have exploded, its your imagination....

Still need to add the fluffy stuff (skulls, rocks, bullet piles, etc etc.) and finish painting it... But anyhoo heres some shots.

Quick thought....

Would some kitty litter make good sand?

The kittie litter experiment....

Hopefully this will turn out better looking after it dries and is painted.

i dont see why it wouldnt work. specially after its painted. my renegades are based on a planet thats covered in ash, and i literally base them in cigarette ashes and it actually looks really good. best part is i dont have to paint them lol

Heh...for some reason this grossed me out...

table has a good start. I personally think kitty litter might be a bit large. But I can't comment 100% until after you show some close ups with models!

Looks pretty cool. I'd recommend a little less of that kitty litter, just seems to detract from the feel of the board some. Nice job!

I was hoping for some TS Eliot references in here and I am feeling totally betrayed.

As far as the board goes it looks like it is coming along nicely but it is still kind of hard to say at this point.

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.

Still waiting on the glue to dry on the litter...

Just as a note, the stuff is annoying to work with, it clumps with the glue, so I expect to have to do some scraping, particularly around the detailed areas (Cracks in the mounds, meteor strikes.)

Other than the annoying clumping going on from the elmers glue (Probably would have worked better with a spray adhesive.) and the smell of it while spreading, is making for a really nice "rough" looking ground.

Just for size reference the board is 2 foot by 4 foot, the other half will be the same size and contain a small ork fortress (This is a very very pending work.) and a sub peice for a complete 4 by 4 playfield.
