So, my girlfriend collects little figurines wants me to make her a "cute monster" and paint it purple. Joy.

Anyone have any idea what kind of model I can get for that? Is there anything good and slaaneshy that I could make, besides the big FW demon I could never afford? Maybe something from WM/Hordes? Or one of those hottie succubus figures people post every once in a while? Anyone have any good pics and/or links to where I can get it? It doesn't really have to be a game model, and it can be bigger than the usual stuff...

Find a nice squig model. You can also look for models of young dragons

Or buy a toy and paint it Convert a My Little Pony? Thats fairly popular if you check out deviantart.com

squigs are cute. ripper swarms are "cute" too. maybe go with lizardman skinks? it really depends on what her idea of "cute" is. does she find your 'nids cute?

edit: you'd probably do well with squig-hoppers.

I'm not sure what her idea of cute is, she's got girlie things like unicorns and pegasusses .. I was geeking out telling her about my nids and she said "maybe you should paint me a cute monster and make it purple" .. she's into sci fi stuff, monster movies, vampire movies, etc..

I like some of the freebooter stuff, but it looks like they're smaller sized, I was hoping for something a little bigger.. like gw greater demon sized. I don't think she'd want a purple great unclean one though I think the FW Slaanesh demon would be great but not that big and expensive

I was also hoping to find something in GW's or Privateer's lines, so that I might be able to use it in a game some day :p

Try Eureka's line. Teddy Bear soldiers (Pirates, 7-year picnic, etc.), Frog warriors, turtle warriors, fighting Nutcracker soldiers, etc. Great stuff.

paint her a cherubim from the inquisition, how can you go wrong with a bloated cupid.

A stone troll or rat ogre, maybe? A purple stone troll could fit into what I understand as cute.
Otherwise you could make one of those Hello Kitty jokes out of basically anything with a cat head stuck to it (the more recently expired the cat, the better the joke).

I bought my partner an Empire Warrior Priest, but she never painted it. First she test-painted a plastic spearman, and did a fairly good job of it (other than mixing boltgun metal into one of the clothing shades), but _hasn't touched the priest_ (sounds suspicious, eh?) I got her a year ago.

If she expressed interest about your tyranids, then it sounds to me like she means "cute" in only that it be painted purple.

Maybe a hive tyrant or carnifex?

Haha, nope they aren't scratch built, GW actually sold this guy years ago. I've got 50 lying around here. I actually bitz ordered a snotling army when I worked for GW (it was one of the appendix armies in the last Orc Army Book) 500 snotling minis for 15 dollars, gotta love bitz by weight!

But she is a big fan of the alien movies so maybe a purple hive tyrant would be good.. like dark purple shells with light purple skin and bone colored talons and stuff...

Fenryll miniatures has an entire line of humorous miniatures, pumpkins, ghosts, etc. This is the most sickeningly cutsey in my opinion.

My girlfriend actually things nyds are cute and sweet looking... so maybe just go for a fex or something
