Would anybody have a problem with my chaos lord carrying a one shot melta pistol and
a seperate bolter? Could this be seen as an obvious Combi-Melta?

Speak now or forever hold your pizza.

(Teaser: This is for my soon to be blogged Slannesh army 1st 20 models built, will prime then post!!!!!)

I don't think many people would have an issue with it as there is no such thing as a melta pistol. (unless you are eldar or sisters anyway)

Plasma pistols would proboly not work in the same context though as it would be too difficult to expect people to remember this one is a combi plas and this one is a regular plasma pistol. But Combi Flamers and Meltas IMO would be fine using this method. Familiar's carring plasma pistols (that you would remove once fired) would be an ok way to do plama pistols(or any of the others actually). I was thinking about doing this with my termies in my chaos army.

It's going to be totally fine for friendly games and most tourney's provided that you explain to your opponent straight up how and why you modelled it that way.

And watch out for TFG. 'Cause he'll be a d!#k about it.

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

melta pistols as combi melta? yes go for it.

My assault marines have flamers for special weapons. These are depicted as flamer pistol and chainsword. The flamer pistol generates no attacks in close combat.

Aesthetically it looks right, and is cleasr as to its use in game, so noone ever complains.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.
