Hello all!
I'm starting a -loyalist- (Wow, rare these days, huh?) Imperial Guard Army, urban themed , but I really want to include their uniforms as some form of a Khaki Green. The problem is, I'm totally sick and tired of the run-of-the-mill Catachan Green. I've used 8 pots of it in my work, so far, and don't intend to use any more! It's colour bores me, and it's far too deep for a more urban army.
If anybody could give me a link to some relatively cheap light-ish Khaki paint, I would be very grateful, and if anyone has any recomendations, I would also be grateful!
On my second point, does anybody have any ideas for a modern camouflage pattern? I don't really like tiger stripes, and Flecktarn is time consuming and colours must look perfect, so would anyone have any Ideas for discussion?
Stay Safe,
~ sA

Oh, Death was never enemy of ours!
We laughed at him, we leagued with him, old chum.

We laughed - knowing that better men would come,
And greater wars: when each proud fighter brags
He wars on Death, for lives; not men, for flags. |

I think a big problem is that there isn't a lot of green in urban environments, but if you use, mabey dark angels green, or a very light green, almost grey, for the fatigues, then a blck/grey kinda urban colour for the armour, maybe something halfway between the two for the camo-stripey bits...could work

If you're going urban, I'd go with grey / charcoal, blue / navy, or black. Any of those will give good results. Personally, I think you would get fantastic results with just solid black armor over charcoal.

No, no, they're just in a city, the camouflage is not necessarily urban itself. Like... WW2, camouflage was simply standard for US Troops in Europe. They do not have the time to change their uniforms or have them taken to the great tailory in the stars.

So yeah, any nice cool greens/khakis.
Oh, and to HAT, that tank is awesome. The camouflage is a must when I include the Valk's in the force.

Might be worthwhile looking up colour schemes from WW2 if that's your source of inspiration. I know Vallejo make paints that reflect exactly many of the common colours from that era.

Well, if going back to WW2, then I vote for German "Ambush" / pea pattern!

ok. vote also for ambush.
Could be a challenge to paint this pattern. :S
Multi-purpose camouflage may use a dark yellow+brown+green.
Or go pure cityfight.
Tank Grey+Dust grey+either greenish grey or stone grey.

That's called Berlin Brigade Camo if you want to look up any further reference.
I vote for Dark Angels Green with black and grey armour, just highlight it with some grey and DA green mix to bring out the colour and make it look less dark and a little more battleworn.

Thanks for all the help guys!
I'm currently looking at Dark Grey/Almost Black armour, coupled with a healthy dose of my new best modelling buddy, Vallejo Luftwaffe Green
