The 2k list is pretty much local only, 1750 would be for an indy GT
next year and possibly 1750 local events if they occur. Mostly just want to get an idea of what to paint and build. I suspect the indy GT
will have the usual suspects (hence the stranglers for anti-ork work) but locally most people run misc Meq
lists and tyranids (heavy stealer, pure cnc lists so a bit different then this one).
While I don't think you will have a problem running Meq down later in the game thanks to fof and scuttling stealers (though fast skimmers will still be annoying) , a 3rd gun fex on the first and second turn might help silence some armoured toting guns or pie plates left that would otherwise be targeting your out in the open stealers.
I've got the two gunfexes modeled up, I dunno if I wanna make a 3rd right now. I'll be getting the 3 carni boxset -- two of which will be made into the elite guys above (magentized this time, but won't be able to be made into gunfexes without a bits purchase). I may go for creating a single set of gunfex arms for future use but just not motivated to do it at the moment. Certainly worth considering though.
Maybe give up the extra wounds on the gunfexes to make up the differnece in points.
Yeah that is certainly on the chopping block for 1750 and I have no reservations losing them to help pay for a 3rd gunfex if I do it in the future.
Just a question? Are your guard armed with scythes or lash whips? In general, I would rather take away a PF or LC attack than get a potantial rend.
Haven't bought them/built them yet. I was thinking about that and I am of two minds here. If the tyrant was of the choppy variety, then some lashwhips makes sense. With the non choppy, the quicker I am out of combat the better. You are probably right though that resiliency is thebetter option (althiough doesn't the lash require base contact? seems easy for a player to keep his fist in support mode for atleast the early part of the combat).
Magnitize the extra carnifex if you haven'y assembled it already.
The two gunfexes are built as is but I have 3 that will be magnetized for sure.
Also per the FAQ, toxic miasma effect is limmited to when the HT is alone or the only model engaged (it won't help your guard and can even be nulled if the HT is in a unit and both HT and guards are engaged)...maybe you might want to get the +1WS biomorph instead.

It will be awhile till these guys see a tournament (the 1750 tournament is in January). I have a P&M blog that will be resurected, so I will prolly mention tournament results there or in a batrep.
As much as it pains me I think I will be dropping the broodlord, snazzy conversion or no. Then I'll get the remaining points by losing a non-scuttle stealer, miasma and something else as needed (not sure from memory if that is enough). I am loathe to weaken my non-scuttling force any and don't wanna lose scoring ability either.
