So we're running a local tourney this Saturday in Columbus Ohio, Cago-Ween 2008, and we needed buildings. Lots of them. Enter Flying Tricycle. Kevin Kirby (of FT) was able to make us 48 excellent buildings from his new line, and get them to us in time to assemble and paint.

We gathered on Saturday night to get them done. Joe (Dietrich on these forums) and I had gotten most of them assembled prior to Saturday night. Enter Spray Painting...

We started by rough-coating them with texture spray paint from Lowes and Meijers. There's Big Ed laying down the paint.

Then we had a bunch of bitz--from the Pegasus Hobby stuff, from the Cities of Death stuff, and from Flying Tricycle--that needed to be sprayed metal or brass. Enter Joe and Mike. Joe's the larger of the two of us. I'm the weenie in the hood and mask.

Dave had to work on the Orky buildings--lots of red....which is what his hands were, when he was done.

And here, after adding the bitz, and some paint, is the end result. I think they're great buildings! Thanks Kevin, Thanks Flying Tricycle!

We'll have more coming later in the week--these are just the first 5. The imperial buildings, with propaganda posters, etc., will be rolling in tomorrow and Thursday...

Very nice. And if you were to start selling them, they'd be a perfect basis for some other buildings.
And They're perfect for quickly throwing them up for a tourney.

Nice job!

Very nice kits and nicely put together to boot!

I've been debating ordering some of these. However, I think if and when I do, I will use some sort of spackle, putty or gap fillter to make some of the "puzzle piece" fittings melt away.

Actually, he DOES sell them... "Flying tricycle."

I like that the Ork buildings are all painted red.
Everyone knows that Ork buildings go fasta when they're painted red!

Yeah thats what I was saying. I own 2 of each of these.
http://www.miniaturescenery.com/SeriesPage.asp?Code=SH
That I got at the warstore.

The flying tricycle ones look like they will go nicely and add veriety to my "village" but I just wanted to know what the cost of the building will be and if the sizes are close so they wont look out of place. I went to his site but its hasnt updated in a while that I could see.

I'm sure Kevin will be along to post the details when he gets a chance. I think the buildings are still in 'prototype' stage, he's getting them to folks to put together, see what needs to be improved, etc.

I believe they retail for between $10 and $20, but don't let me speak for FT, as I don't work for them. They're much cheaper than the CNC stuff....

Well cool then I will deffinately be looking for them to hit his site and as long as they are in scale or close, I will be picking these up too. Was just asking about price as buildings from FT tend to be in the $40 range which isnt cheaper than CNC and the ones in the link are $18 so right in line with the price you were guesstimating on. But I will still be looking to add them if they are in that range.
Thanks

P.s. good luck with your event. Let us know how it goes, looks like it will be a good one. Lots of pics would be cool!

The buildings look great - I would love the elevated walkway and the town square on their site. Have emailed them about shipping to the UK.

Buildings are laser-cut from plywood. Very sturdy, I dropped one and no damage.

If we had more time, I might have used some filler for the 'puzzle-piece' fittings. I'd suggest wood putty, which can then be sanded.

They were easy to assemble.

We are excited about them because they provide needed LOS-blocking fifth edition terrain.

We'll have to post more pictures. In addition to the orky ones, FT made 'mos eisly' looking windows and doors.
