Lukus, look for the "flower" setting on your camera if it has one. My wife says check the manual if it doesn't because sometimes they still have them (she's an amateur photographer and used to sell cameras for a living too), it's a matter of adjusting settings.
Also make sure that you have a good, bright light source that's been diffused. Try a halogen or high wattage lamp screened by parchment paper. Check your grocery store in the baking goods section for parchment paper.

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money
"Can a magician kill a man by magic?" Lord Wellington asked Strange. Strange frowned. He seemed to dislike the question. "I suppose a magician might," he admitted, "but a gentleman never could." Susanna Clarke Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell

The light colored hooves don't quite fit. The contrast draws the eyes to the feet and away from the figure. Have you tested a variant with darker (e.g., black, dark grey, etc) hooves?

Thats the one thing that irritates me sometimes about le nids, doing the same damn paintjob 30 times for 180 points.
Strength in numbers.

You don't need to zoom in closer so much as you need to crop the picture. We don't need to see 80% background, just cut that all out.
