Using the new plastic land speeder kit.
The crew are actually scout torsos and heads with the SM arms (as I didn't have any other non marine arms in the right poses to scale).

Floor of the passenger compartment is Evergreen textured plasticard. Sidewalk 10mm grid. I had a piece that was 4x5 squares leftover from a terrain piece.
Strutwork is sprue offcuts from the landspeeder kit itself. The top piece was cut just behind the intakes - which were trimmed and remounted on the sides of the engine bay. The pan was cut just at the point where the forward hull slopes down. The passenger compartment is there simply to hold the front and back ends together.

A spare piece of rear armour from a SST Bigfoot Marauder suit was glued onto the underside of the plasticard, to fill the void and make the centre look more solid. The searchlight is the disruption beacon, mounted on top, and an old smoke launcher became the cerberus launcher (3 barrels for the legendary three-headed dog). I also added a sling-hook on a swing-arm boom, for sling pickups or snatch jobs (no in game purpose). The pilot also has a new windscreen, courtesy some spare acetate sheet (he's wearing NVG). Some Squadron green putty was used to fill gaps. The crew have not been glued in place yet (yes, I know there are mold seams visible.)

The Dorsal control surface (wing or fin) is because all of my speeders use the trifoil wing arrangement - I really don't like the little spoiler GW has in the kit. Besides, as my army has a Star Wars theme, the trifoil wing is a better thematic fit.

The pics:

The passenger space is only 3cm long and 15mm wide (per side), and scale wise, can only fit TWO SM sized models per side (unbased) if seated. I can fit 5 models, but only if they are smaller seated figures, like sentinel pilots, with three on one side and two on the side with the boom. Alternatively, I can fit five standing scouts no problem (3/2) if I choose to model them that way.
I've still got to add small rings to the main centreline dorsal spar (for rappelling lines), finish removing mold lines and paint the thing now.

Custom chapter, based off my other hobby (I'm a Star Wars costumer, in the 501st), with a Star Wars clone army (Grand Army of the Republic) like the one seen in Star Wars:Battlefront (computer game).

I have a Chaplain and Librarian leading my army (Master of Sanctity, Brother Chaplain Alois - pronounced 'alloy', as in "more machine than man - Vater and Chief Librarian Palpatine.

The Tacticals are painted up like clone troopers (white armour, blacklined) of the 501st (blue detail).
Assault marines are in the green of the Jet Troopers.
Command squads get the red of Palpatine's shock troopers.
Scouts get black undersuit and white armour, and helmets (mostly). All speeders get the trifoil wing. Dreadnoughts are piloted walkers (not walking life support chambers). I have tanks also, with tracks - as I've got copies of a whole lot of concept art and sketches from all 6 movies, and the AT-AT started out as a large tracked tank, not a walker.

I've got a gallery here:http://www.ageofstrife.com/modules.php?set_albumName=chromedog&name=Gallery&file=index&op=modload&include=view_album.php&page=1

click the link in my previous post.
That's got most of it there.

However, here's my Landspeeder Typhoon.

Yes, that is lego. It was rebuilt after making the acquaintance of my little sister's pet (Rottweiler). I needed it for a game at the time, ad haven't felt the need to rebuild it 'properly' as it looks fine to me.

@Squigherder: The storm is the new tranport for scouts in the SM codex.

Takes up a FA slot, and can carry 5 scouts. Can outflank with them, too. Carries a beacon to disrupt enemy Deep strikers, and can take a HB, MM or AC as primary weapon.

Apparently GW will release a kit of this. I wanted one now.

You will occasionally see us alone - I used to take PT to get to the gatherings.
80-90% of the time, if there are a group of us around, there's some kind of charity event going on - or publicity for something is the remainder. Some of us are a worry, though. Like any hobby.

I've done mainly children's hospital visits and a single DVD release publicity shoot (I'm a Stormtrooper - and yes, I AM a little short.), but that was a few years ago. These days I mostly help out behind-the-scenes (costume alteration/fabrication).

Didn't someone else on Dakka make a similar model for Necromunda? Can anyone give me the link?

On another note both models of yours look great and I like the idea of a star wars army.

Whatst he 501st? (I know its the 501st legion ior something like that in Battlefront 2, was probably the second best star wars game so far.)

But Charity and video games has me confused... So what is the 501st in real life?

The 'real' 501st pages are here:
http://www.501stlegion.org/mission.php
The fictional 501st canon is here:
http://www.starwars.com/databank/organization/501st/?id=eu.

The costumers and charity work came first, then the video game, then finally a movie appearance in ep 3 as Anakin's Trooper entoutrage when he goes to kill all the jedi.

It was because of their charity work that they recieved official sanction from Lucasfilm (to use the costumes and designs) and George Lucas is one of their members (if only honorary).

Thread Necromancy: Bah, it's my thread.

Here she is painted up. Still have to add the "imperial" roundel/rosette to her, and paint flock the base, but she's about as finished as she's gonna get.

I've put in 5 seats and restraint bars like you'd find on amusement park rides.

The bulky piece under the passenger compartment houses the retro-thrusters (jump jets off a Starship Troopers Marauder).

And we have main engines start, go for throttle-up.

and because someone asked nicely, a pic of my army : All up, when finished, it will have a battle company, plus 10 sternguard, 5 dreads, 3 land raiders, 4 speeders, 20 bikers and 30 scouts. I'm 13 marines short at this point.

Jet Troopers:

Sternguard and their ride (these are my new ones, replacing the older red "veterans" from the last edition):
[Sternguard are my ARC troopers, hence the red markings. All are made from plastic bits.). The carnifex head is representing the skull of the mythosaur, totem creature for the mandalorians (Jango Fett's 'people').

@GES:
Thanks for reminding me.
Army has got more done since.
Here's a pic of it as it is now.

There's a company of marines there, plus half of 1st co, and half of the scout co. The other 9 pods wouldn't fit on the table.

Oh, and my lego 'warhound'.

Doesn't count as threadomancy if it's my thread.

The bit stuck on the side of England. Wales isn't it.

Good army you have assembled there. Great conversion on the land speeder. Nice and bright and clean all round. Although if it was me, I wouldn't trust a carnifex to drive that rhino for you. They can be a bit ham fisted.

How many carnifices can you fit into a rhino?
One - almost.

Nah, it's just a skull trophy mounted on the hull. Counts as the 'dozer blade'.

@Djphranq:
Here you go.
Chaplain Vater (it's dutch for 'father', I grew up speaking it). His full title is Brother-Chaplain Father Vater. Yes, it's deliberate. Fr Father. Based of Asmodai, the DA Interrogator-chaplain model.

Chief-Librarian brother Aloysious Palpatine (the blue on the hand representing the power he's casting - ie, lightning bolts.

Third up is a minor codicier. Unnamed. Just serves as a vet sgt for one of the squads (most of the squad sgts are one of the 'lost ones' (jedi who left the order prior to the clone wars - like dooku. There were 20-30 of them. They weren't hunted down.).

The white is a spray undercoat of automotive white primer, thin coat of watered down skull white, badab black wash for the lines, cleaned up with astro grey and more skull white. Takes a week for the paintjob. I was doing a squad a week.

No more white.

Off-Topic: When Chromedog says "It's my thread" (i.e. singular, one, only) he really means it! I clicked on your name and was looking through your posts (don't ask me why... I'm not stalking you... now if I just knew the color of your car...) and I can't believe you've only started ONE thread while posting over 1000 posts!

At your current post count that's .00098 threads started for every post! If we were all that disciplined, there'd be a lot less threads to follow on this board

On-Topic: Very cool! I actually like the landspeeder a lot closed in... although I'm sorry the dog got to it :-/. Looks like you had a nice conversion going, but it looks awesome as-is. Great theme to your army... I'd like a few more close-ups to see what everything is

(although, if you feel the urge... you could always feel free to put it in a new thread )

I plan to.
When I have something more to show. I'm working on a small IG force, but they're still in the grey plastic stage. Combining Wargames Factory English zulu wars redcoats with cadians for my take on a "praetorian-like" army with steampunk undertones.

btw: Car is white with a custom decal (but otherwise stock hyundai excel 5 door).

What can I say? Self-discipline is the best kind (well, next to mistress and her riding ... er, perhaps TMI there.)

Wow, Nice theme.

I almost made a clone army from my tau, but hated painting so much white so I changed it to the colors of Boba Fett.

by the way, vater is german for father, in dutch it is vader. so exually there is nothing to change on the name cause it funny enough already dutch.
EDIT: or you are referring to the version used in relegion (after all it is a chaplain) in that case it would be "pater"

In many ways your Storm is better then the GW ones iv seen. i love the seats and rolercoster bar.

when i get my hands on a Storm kit im planing on pimping it for use as a IG stormtrooper or catachan devils transtort.

im going to try side mounted heavy stubbers. posibly mounted on the old rhino railings i ever saw the point in puting on.

it seems nowerdays i cant do anything without mounting a heavy stubber on it
