I haven't had much time to work on my army lately, but I have made some progress on a few weapon covnersions. Here are the ones that are currently nearing completion. Any comments or suggestions would be welcome.

1. Flamethrower - I'm trying to avoid backpacks, so I rearranged the fuel tanks to be attached underneath the gun. A lot of people suggested that this made the weapon look too heavy, so I've replaced the original tanks with smaller bottles. I'm pretty happy with the overall shape now (I'll at least finish the four I've prepared to the stage shown here). What do you think of adding small raised hazard stripe panels to the bottles (drawn in on the rght image)? It feels like they're a little plain without the skulls and crossbones that appear on the tanks, and this struck me as an easy solution

2. Plasma Gun - I've cut the guns up and combined the with the back portions of grenade launcher. I'm fairly settled on this design, but I'm open to suggestions for minor changes. (Sorry the picture isn't very good - the camera always picks the reflections on the metal parts as its white point, which makes it tough to see them clearly.)

3. Heavy Bolter - This weapon has been redesigned to be fired from a prone position and carried between two soldiers. It has a bipod, a pair of handles, and a scope (the gun looked too tall for a prone guardsman to aim over the top). I'm not entirely happy with the handles (for one thing, they keep breaking off as I work on other parts of the gun), so I'd be willing to consider any alternative arrangements you can think of.

4. Converted Shotgun (second from the top) and Senior Officer's Laspistol (second from the bottom) - The shotgun is based on Wynnstudio's design, with a few slight modifications (rounded top, full-length clip, "iron sights" notch in the protruding part on top). Making a pump action seemed too hard without buying a bunch of marines and cutting up their bolters (and then using up all of the "empty hand" arms on from my IG sprues), so I tried to make it look like an automatic. The laspistol is intended to be unique in the army - my commanding officer's personal sidearm. I like the normal pistol well enough, but Mauser C96-derived pistols are a little too common in sci-fi settings, so I thought I'd give him something that stands out. This gun is based on the Thompson Contender, which seemed appropriately elegant for an aristocratic officer's dueling pistol. This is my second try, and I think I'm close this time (it still needs some green stuff work, but the overall shape seems right). My main concern right now is that it's awfully large - about 150% the size of a normal laspistol. Any suggestions for either of these weapons would be appreciated (I'd consider going back to the drawing board for either - especially if someone has a better idea for the pistol design).

Nice work, I'm liking it so far. I personally think you should do the hazard stripes. Those shoulders are just a tad too big though...

I like the shoulder pads, so long as they're not supposed to be solid metal

No, they're just supposed to be metal shells (shoulderpads don't make much sense unless there's space for shoulders inside), and more decorative than protective. They were, of course, inspired by the "Armor: Because shoulders are vulnerable" motivational poster.

Looking good! I suggest you also add some armour to the lower legs in a similar style as your shoulderpads and then you;re set!

Sounds good then. They're well modeled too.
