these notes with be covering over the Legion i have used to base my army off of, i have left it open part way, including missing chapters, traitor chapters and the such so that if someone else wishes to use this, they can claim one of the missing chapters or for chaos players the traitors, well i will be introducing chapters as i go along, and i hope you all like, i will include some pics from time to time so i hope you all enjoy, a bunch of the chapters will be vanilla chapters, i will get around to fluffing them all, but the main reason for leaving these chapters this way is simple, this way if anyone else would like to use them, they can, and filling in their own fluff.

first i will start off with some background fluff with how the Emperor and Garuss Acine are reunited
like many of his brother Garuss Acine was lost, having arrived upon a feral world, he was raised by a rather weak and dying tribe, the leader had seen great promise in the young boy. it wasn't long before he was adopted and named heir to the ruler of the tribe, as such Garuss grew to know battle well, his mind excelled at leading strike forces against other tribes and the local Feral Orks, taking the fangs from his kills he wore them on a necklace about his neck proudly. Garuss had grown to love his people, and did all in his power to protect them, though his peaceful rule was soon to be changed, for his time in the warp on his way to the planet had left a mutation within him, and one night, during a mighty battle, his new talent roared from him. like a thunder clap his motivation spread like wild fire through the men that where around him and could see him, their minds so weak that they had been wiped clean, but they still fought on with his drive and love of battle. Garuss was ashamed of this fate, and using the warriors, he pushed forward into the lands of his foes, crushing all who stood before him, and soon the planet had been unified, but the cost had been piled high, and over whelmed with shame Garuss gave the reigns of rulership to the truth son of the man that had adopted him. he left the lands and retreated into the wildness, but his actions had gone far from unnoticed, for the spark that had exploded from him, had gained the attention of the Emperor himself. when the Emperor traveled to the planet he learned of the great man that had united a planet then as suddenly as he had claimed victory, he had given it up and upon the Emperor seeing the warriors that had been made hallow found it no doubt that it was one of his sons.he set off into the unknown, and the two beings met as if drawn to each others greatness. though it was not the warm and friendly meeting of father and son that was to be expected. the Emperor challenged the young primarch to any contest that would suit him the winner would be able to ask anything of the loser, Garuss being head strong and aggressive accepted, and set the contest to a fight. the two set upon each other for days, neither giving any ground, upon the fifth day of the fighting, they both pulled back and agreed to a truce for six hours. in the time Garuss looked to his foe, studying him, and learning about him, smirking weakly, he had made a plan to win. he fell asleep, but woke with a start as he reliesed the time had run over, looking to man before him, he gave his thanks for not being attacked while asleep, and with that the fighting set back into action, again the fighting lasted for days, but this time, on the second fifth day, both where worn and exhausted yet again, but this was all part of Garuss's plan, with a mighty roar he threw his weight into one last attack, driving his fist, into the nose of the man, knocking him to the ground, breathing heavily, he looked down to his foe, and slowly slumped to his knees all of his energy worn and used, he growled weakly as his foe stood, setting his own broken nose, he stood and looked to his son, Garuss lowered his head in defeat submitting to the new comer. upon his defeat the Emperor announced who he was and asked the Garuss Acine join him in his conquest of the universe. as agreed Garuss swore himself to the Emperor grudgingly, it was this that gained him the distrust of his father. when Garuss Acine was reunited with his Legion, many things changed, and this put more distance between Garuss and the Emperor's favor, and gained Garuss and his Legion some of the more dredging work of the Legions, even though Garuss hated the Emperor he served without question, but he still had a mind of his own. it was this free spirt that had cost the Legion the most, upon returning to Terra centuries late to the call of the Emperor the Legion was ordered to set down on a near by planet, and once landed a fleet of imperial ships soon blockaded the planet, and the Twelve Lords of Terra demanded that Garuss Surrender command of his Legion and let them be splintered into their Chapters. Garuss was furious, he had hated the Emperor, but he served with honor, and it was this that brought how corrupt the Imperium had become since the loss of the Emperor. with rightious furry, the legion assaulted the Imperal fleet, hitting so fast and hard that they had captured the ships, and those they couldn't capture, where scuttled in last stands by marine strike forces aboard them. the planet populace was given the chance to leave with the Legion and a good portion of them did, and with that the Legion left the Service of the Imperium, Garuss remembered his vow to the Emperor and promised to finish the dream that had slipped away from his father, the planet was slaughtered, down to the last man, woman and child, all of the blame was laid at the feet of the 11th and they where wiped from the records of man kind.
the Legion as of today is very much like its head strong Primarch, each Chapter having its own colors and symbols, though still loyal chapters all have a banner marking them as Swords of Terra, all still loyal will answer their Primarch's call to arms without a moment to spare. in total the Legion had amassed twenty chapters, ten of which have gone missing or become traitors. as for fighting against their former brothers their is no holding back, in fact the former 11th's are more than happy to attack their former brothers. the loyal marines take great pride in crushing the taint on their name. also the Legion take great joy in fighting against Inquisitorial Battle forces, having been caste out of the Imprium has made them large targets for Inquisitors looking to gain favor or fame, and as such they had fought with such foes on a normal basis. the Legion also enjoys to recruit Marines from other chapters into their forces, for they are not as closed minded as the Imperium, meaning that Marines from all Loyal chapters will fight at their side, and some of the Legions Heros are of the younger Marines taking in by the Legion, including Ultramarines, Blood Angels, Dark Angels, and more commonly the Chapters from the Leman Russ and Rogal Dorn seed lines join the ranks of Garuss Acine's linage, and in some cases entire companies are made up of the adopted gene seed lines.
well thank you all for reading feel free to leave commits, for next will come the background on the 1st Chapter, the Heralds of Despair)

Heralds of Despair, 1st Chapter
The Background to the Heralds, is greatly known among the Legion, the Chapter takes great pride in protecting its Gene-Seed, and as such an Apothecaries are found in most of their squads to help secure the Chapter's genetic future. as the Elite of the Legion the Heralds have the honor of fighting with their Primarch, deemed by their leader to be the purist of his Gene-Seed, this rumor is not far from the truth as the only other Chapter to have been as close where the Tears of Doom, who where chased into a warp storm with the other traitors. besides the Gene-Seed being the closest, they are many traits from their Primarch that seem to come out in them, the entire Chapter's eye color is that of their Primarch, a dark hazel. in battle the Heralds do just as their name implies, they bring horror and despair to their enemies, striking from the dark and shadows, even to their Eldar counter parts, they are treated with fear and respect, seeming to appear where they are least expected, they are also prideful in the extreme and only the words of their leaders can call them from battle. where most marines have the zealous blood lust, the Heralds have cold and calculated mind, and are only prone to blood lust and losing themselves in blood shed in their last stands, for only when victory is taken from them do they lax their unit structure and work like lone wolves striking down as many foes as they can. though when lead into combat by their Primarch, they push to their extremes, throwing themselves upon their enemies with a cold fury unmatched by any frenzied army.

Iron Wolves, Chapter 2
the 2nd chapter, brings to light their Primarch's more wild and aggressive side. though the aggression and blood thirst in all Iron Wolf Space Marines comes from the genetic addition from the animal that is the Chapter's name sake. the Iron Wolves' Chapter Master Adel Grimfang, saw in the biped predators of the harsh Feral world his chapter had chanced upon, a useful edge, and very much in the same way as the Space Wolves, they added the animalistic instinct to the Gene-Seed of the Chapter, giving the Space Marines a rather different out look. there where set back, some marines so far gone to mutation that the only course left was a purge. though finally the process was refined and then the Gene-Seed was quickly implanted into the newest recruits. though the tampering with the Gene-Seed had gained the distrust of the Captains of the companies, and soon word reached the ear of their Primarch, as one the 1st Chapter struck, enraged at the death of so many loyal Space Marines Garuss gave no Mercy to one of his most trusted of warriors, and the fighting between the two leaders was only shadowed by the fight between the Emperor and Horus. but the damage had been dealt and the Gene-Seed of the 2nd Chapter was changed for all time, for a while the Chapter was under the watchful eyes of the entire Legion, it was during these times that they proved their loyalty beyond a doubt, throwing themselves into meat grinder after meat grinder, all in the name of their Primarch and the Emperor. finally accepted back into the Legion, the once mighty Chapter needed rebuilding, and with it new tactics each company was reinforced and became far larger than normal, within months of being accepted into the Legion, they soon took on the Space Wolves loose and in their case useful Command Structure for their own, this of course has brought a great rivalry between the two Chapters, and both liking a good fight had fought against each other many times. it was these bloody fights that brought a semi friendship between the Iron Wolves and Space Wolves, and often Enough members of both Chapters are found adopted into the other, and often enough wearing the colors of their new Chapter. it is due to the Space Wolves rather distrust to the Imperium that has allowed this to happen without reaction from the Twelve Lords of Terra, for the simple fact that it is unknown and unwritten.

3rd Chapter Swords of Cobalt
a rather plain and unoriginal chapter the Cobalt's are known for their loyalty to the teachings of the Adept Astartes, comparable to the Ultra Marines, they are no less hero's and warriors than any of the other chapters but they are firm in their belief that by the book is better than improvised. but they do stand out as being one of the few chapters to have changed their name, they had originally been the Death Scythes, but after losing 80% of their numbers to a campaign against an ork Waargh, they quickly found the near by planet Cobalt a perfect world to gather new marines, now normally this would not have dictated a change in name but as soon as the ships had landed, the chapter found itself fighting against an infestation of feral orks on the planet, the fighting lasted for months and the chapter was near extinction when the populace of Cobalt rallied behind their protectors and fought side by side with the beleaguered protectors and as the ashes of the battle settle, the world was ravaged beyond salvation and from the stories the world had been attacked many times by green skins, so to repay the debt to their allies the Death Scythes changed their name to Swords of Cobalt and took the surviving populace with them, recruiting those they could into the chapter, and within a few years of serving on lighter duty the chapter was restored to its former glory. as such the Chapter has a rather large collection of Conscript fighters, able to field massive amounts of non space marine fighters, far more than most of the other chapters.

7th Chapter Redeemers/Nexus Skulls
first of the Traitor Chapters, during the deployment along side the rest of legion while trapped planet side during a warp storm, the calls of chaos soon worked its way into the chapter's chaplain, and soon his words gained the loyalty of half of the chapter, those still loyal to their primarch assaulted the traitors. it was only the arrival of the Genesis Skulls their rival chapter that brought them salvation, chasing the traitors away, lacking the man power to crush them while the chapter lay in ruins, the attention of the legion soon was else where

8th Chapter Tears of Doom
the story of the Tears of Doom is different to say the least, for it was their loyalty to their primarch that nearly brought their destruction about. during the legions years stranded planet side(to be explained further) the chapter master Senval Grothem slowly succumbed to the promise of change and power, giving into the lord of lies and change, his body mutated. with his new found glory he presented himself to his brothers, and was shocked to see that the chapter nearly shot him on sight, so disgusted with this he quickly formed a lie in how that Garuss Acine himeself had sworn to serve chaos and that he was following in his Primarch's steps. so blinded by their trust in both their chapter master and their love for their primarch the chapter quickly vowed to serve chaos, Senval was smug with his victory but he had no idea what it would cost him later on. as the civil war within the Legion raged, the chaos marines soon swarmed forward attacking the main command base , in the attack Senval locked into combat with his primarch in hopes of getting rid of the truth, but he was no match for his former lord and the fighting soon entered out into the open where both armies would watch as the primarch tore the traitorous chapter master apart, the rest of the chapter upon seeing their primarch fighting against them soon lost hope and fled the field, fleeing to their ships and blindly jumping through the warp storm, upon exiting the warp, the chapter turned to itself, and the remains of the chapter tore at itself, for some believed that chaos was true power while others wished to serve their primarch still, in the end, all but 35% of chapter was gone, the remaining marines where all loyal to their primarch but where mutated and covered in marks of chaos, they are dead to the rest of the Legion but seek to redeem themselves, and slowly they have started to recruit again, fighting against chaos where ever they can find it, each Tears of Doom Marine is a warrior of thousands of years of life, for the mutations they had been given still live on, for in truth they are daemons, some so far gone as to have become part of their armor and weapons, immortality has come to them but at a grave price, for their lives as long as they are, will never be redeemed, they seek only to serve their primarch, constantly scouting ahead of their former legion, harassing the foes there and opening the approach for their former brothers with their blood, only to disappear as their Legion appears

9th chapter Apostles of Repentance
during the years stranded in the warp storm the Apostles of Repentance where ravaged with a virus unlike anything seen before, and the town they had taken to wardship over soon suffered as well, within days the township was near empty of life, it was in these days that Nurgle spoke to the marines of the 9th chapter promising power and wisdom, and gifts if they would swear themselves to him, the temptation was too much for even the marines to ignore, but it took another month for the chaos god to gain enough control to take the chapter as his own, though it was a blood affair as the loyalists made a last stand, killing all they could even as the virus melted their body from within. in the end like the rest of the traitors they where chased into the warp roughly 40% of their numbers killed in the fighting.

Chapter 10 Scions of the Apocalypse
another traitor chapter, very much like their primarch resenting the emperor, they resented their leader, for they did not like his more understanding treatment, they found him weak and lacking, and when stranded with the rest of the legion in the warp storm they found the promise of true power from the chaos god of blood far too much to pass on and quickly switched sides, butchering or recruiting the people that they had been sent to protect, they served in little action, but had served in the main course of action in buying the chaos forces a way off planet by blind siding their former brothers, striking and crushing the defenders opening the way, and in doing so earn the favor of their chaos god, they soon fell back into the warp with roughly 90% of their forces leaving behind their "weaker" brothers

Chapter 11-14
Normally there would only be 10 chapters, but as seeing Chapters 8,9 and 10 had become traitors, their numbers as well as their names where tossed aside, forever remembered as traitors and heretics, so as not to bring shame to a new Chapter, when the new Chapters where formed, they where given the numbers 11 to 14, as a way to prevent slander and in hope that the folly of the older Chapters would not be followed.

Chapter 12 Tempest Knights

Chapters16-20
these chapters where formed in response to the need for extra marines, and after their forming they had been cut off from the rest of the legion for some time, little is known about these lost chapters, be they traitors, dead , returned to the imperium of man or still seek out their legion is yet to be seen. as all records where lost in the many years of war.

Swords of Terra current state:
the 11th has fallen into the shadows and is content to do so. having fallen back to the unknown reaches of space, they have set up a small collection of worlds in their name, where Eldar, Tau and Human live in a some what peaceful manner, there is plenty of unrest and in the hive worlds their are gang wars between the races, but for the most part it is a united front, and when attacked from an outside source the races soon forget their differences to crush the enemy, having crushed a few splinter hive fleets as well as smaller sized Waarghs! Garuss Acine has no desire to bring the Emperor back, he looks to his fallen father with pain and grief, even though he hated him.
he was still his father, and their is always a love from the prodigal son, but he looks to the Emperor as a man, a great man, but a man none the less, and refuses to help restore him. any space marine chapter still loyal to the emperor is spared, if they can avoid fighting them. they will not lay down and die though for the civil war within the legion had given them more than enough Brother's blood on their hands.
the Warhost of the 11th is led by Farseer Ki’son’ol, and most of the warhost had served along side the 11th for the second half of their 600 years trapped planet side in a warp storm it was only due to their alliance that brought the survival of the eldar force, and the 11th had done much in return for their help, so a strong bond has formed between the warriors of the Warhost and the Legion. as for the Castes of the 11th, a Tau exploration force had been exploring a near by cluster of planets only to find themselves the target of a Ork fleet, the Tau fleet was torn apart, a small band of fire caste and air caste being cut off from the main fleet, most of their ships filled with colonists was left to fend for themselves but their distress calls where not unanswered, the entire 12th Chapter arrived on scene to deal with the aggressors, the Orks had been a constant thorn in their side and now they had them, within minutes and with the guidance of the eldar farseers the fleet slipped out the warp just behind the ork fleet and the battle barges easily tore them apart but it was the arrival of the flag ship Heralding Dawn (space hulk) that spelled the doom of the Orks.
feeling rather abandoned by their people the Tau where easily talked into joining a "Greater Good" that would not leave them at the first sight of danger, soon word of them joining the 11th spread to the Tau worlds and soon all Tau looking for a different path flocked to this new calling, and it was with their help that the 11th's holdings where able to grow quickly and become fortified as quickly as they had.
the craft world that the warhost had found(in truth the a combined force from all loyal chapters had fought it clean of Dark Eldar and other chaos forces) was soon named Hae hon ath (basically from what i can find, it means Hope) the craft world is the main fortress from where the Legion acts, being able to move from place to place the craft world has under gone many repairs and refits to allow the marines located their to be able to assault ships and planets with drop pods and assault torpedoes, as well as lay out a barrage of weapons fire, the craft world has be out fitted to have many strong point from which defenders had chase back boarding parties, thought the craft world is impressive it is the flag ship Heralding Dawn which is feared the most, being older than the legion it serves, it is a monster comparable to none, enough engines to deploy quickly and disappear as quickly as it had come, leaving most unaware of the strike force that is heading their way until the force strikes home only to have the space hulk jump back and deploy thunderhawks to secure its warriors and pull out back to friendly space.

Well this is very thorough if anything! Just a few things:-
(a) what exactly is the Primarch's power/mutation. You make reference to it in the first post, but don't really elaboarate?
(b) Why exactly does the Emperor distrust him? I mean Russ bested the Emperor in several events, as did Vulcan, but they were both amazingly close to the Emperor.
(c) And it's unlikely that successor chapters would be drawn from this legion, as the 'Lost Primarchs' were lost even before the heresy. So they would not be involved in the subsequent foundings. Plus they are considered 'lost' therefore unable to count on the support of the other chapters.
It's very intensive stuff, and I love people looking into the two lost legions. But apply some grammar and a bit more thought good stuff thus-far!
NOTE: Aaargh I have commited heinous heresy by commiting Thread Necromancy :( I do apologise!!!

A) wow it has been a while >< thank you for pointing this out.
Garuss's mutation is that he a very potent pysker, his gene seed giving such gifts to his Sons, though it is not the most powerful it grants his many chapters Librarians on equal footing as Tigrius(May have spelled this wrong)
B)yeesh I need to work on my details more.
Garuss didn't swear his loyality to the Emperor blindly, he didn't bow by choice to the Emperor instead he was ruled only by his own judgements, this made the Emperor wary of his son. and as time went by Garuss's ways put more space between them, he gave mercy to unaggressive Xenos. in some cases letting them off completely. of course the dislike was not just one way, Garuss felt the Emperor was too extreme in his ways, and was rather vocal of this. this further seperated him from both the Emperor and his brothers.
C) only chapter 11 through 14 are new, in truth the chapters where formed to help keep the entire legion alive. they are not true successors, its is a ploy in which to keep the Inquistion guessing, for they are hunting a Legion, not 20 or so chapters. it allows the Legion to act without being attacked on sight. the 11th is very active in its fighting against the Lords of Terra, raiding deliveries of tanks and supplies to help suppliment their own forges as they are still gaining a firm control over their holdings. aggressively protecting what is their's as well as their allies.

I had a look at the Primarch story, and I can see were you've lifted things from the other Primarchs. I had a quick thing and jotted down this, hope you like:
Like his brother Primarchs, Garuss Acine was cast from Terra. His pod would arrive upon a nameless feral world, were various tribes of post-prehistoric men fought for what little resources they could claim on the death world. Stalked by giant insectoids and constantly at war with feral Greenskins, Garuss’ pod was happened upon by the Sword-Brethren, one of the smaller and less powerful tribes of the world. The leader had seen great promise in the young boy, and adopted him as his own, much to the ire of his biological son. The Tribe leader named him Garuss Acine, which in the tribe’s language translated to The Sword That Descends from upon Heaven.
It wasn't long before news travelled around the various tribes of Prince Acine, the angel-son. He was named heir to the ruler of the tribe, again to the detriment of his brother. Prince Acine soon grew to become not only a brilliant tactician, but also a genius inventor, leading his people from their primal ways into a civilised society. Rival tribes were either assimilated into his new grand nation, or crushed in quick violent wars. Garuss also led his people in a cleansing of the Feral Ork Tribes that had been a vicious noose around his people’s necks; he claimed the fangs from each Warboss he defeated and wove them into a vast necklace, which some claimed had some of his godlike power infused into it.
Garuss had grown to love his people, and did all in his power to protect them, however darkness and the taint of corruption was soon to find him. His brother had absconded from the tribe and fled to the wilderness, amassing some of the more independent tribes under his banner. He poisoned their minds with lies and deceit and soon his own jealousy was theirs also. He made alliances with the few remaining Ork Warbosses, and soon he stood at the head of an army intent on unmaking all his brother had wrought. Many of the outer villages were pillaged and destroyed, and soon Garuss lead his own army to face the usurpers. The two forces clashed, Garuss like a tornado of violence, rending foes left and right. Whilst Garuss’ force had the advantage in technology, they soon began to fall beneath the weapons of the horde. Garuss frantically tried to rally his men, but all seemed lost. It was at this moment, at his most desperate, that a change took Garuss Acine that would change his life forever.
Like a thunder clap from his mind, his will and motivation spread like wild fire through the men that where around him. Both friend and foe lost all willpower of their own and suddenly fell under his influence. It spread like a virus through the two forces, until eventually all bar the Orks and his Brother were under his spell. The mindless drones slew the Orks and eventually tore Garuss brother limb from limb, his screams of pain met by Garuss’ booming laughter. Garuss then led this mindless horde back to the enemy tribes and slew everything in his path. The lives of many innocents were lost that night, and soon Garuss became all too aware of the horror he had unleashed. He severed the link he held over the army, and without a will to control them, they simply fell down and died. Garuss howled in mourning, and fled into the wilderness hoping to go unnoticed and vanish from memory.
However, Garuss actions had gone far from unnoticed, for the spark that had exploded from him had gained the attention of intellects both equal and superior to his own. The Emperor, and his sons Horus and Fulgrim, happened upon this backwater world. They learned of the great Prince Acine that had united the tribes and then vanished with his grand army. The Emperor was certain that such an individual could only be one of his lost sons.
Along with Horus and Fulgrim, the Emperor set off into the unknown on a hunt for the lost Prince Acine. Eventually, the three godly beings came to a cave surrounded by a great wall. Horus felled the wall in one mighty blow much to the mirth of his brother Fulgrim; however the Emperors attention was fixed squarely on the ragged looking barbarian who came out the cave.
Looking wild and unkempt, Prince Acine viewed the three intruders with great mistrust. In one hand he held a vast axe, made from the stone of the cave and round his neck he wore his necklace of fangs. Horus and Fulgrim smiled, and waved in greeting, however the Emperors expression was neutral. Garuss could feel something probing his mind as if searching for something. He locked down his mental barrier and charged at the Emperor with fury.
The Emperor bid his two sons to stand aside and pounced upon the young upstart. The two set upon each other for days, neither giving any ground or relenting in their attacks. Upon the fifth day of the fighting, Garuss fell to his knees in exhaustion, looking with rage at this foe he could not defeat. The Emperor enquired into whether Garuss would yield. Garuss growled that he would not, and the Emperor offered him a gift: a six hour truce.
Garuss sat in grim silence. He looked to his foe and tried to discern any detail he could use to win. Eventually sleep overtook him in his exhaustion
Waking with a start, Garuss leapt to his feet, axe drawn. However the three godly figures sat apart from him. Looking to the sky, Garuss realised he had slept for almost 12 hours, well over the allotted truce time. The Emperor, seeing Garuss wake, rose from the ground and approached the young Primarch, enquiring into whether he had slept well. Garuss took this as a grave insult and once again hurled himself at the Emperor.
Again the fighting lasted for days, and again on the fifth day, Garuss fell to his knees in exhaustion. Again the Emperor asked would he yield, and Garuss roared his dissent. His power leapt from him toward the two figures who accompanied his foe, and he tried to hollow their minds and use them against this ‘Emperor’. However, he met great resistance and his power was thrown back.
“Do not involve them” said the golden giant “this is between you and me”
With a mighty roar Garuss threw his weight into one last psychic attack, driving his will into the mind of the man. It was deflected violently, knocking Garuss to the ground, breathing heavily. The Emperor looked down to his foe, and slowly dropped to his knees and offered Garuss his hand. All of his energy worn and used, he growled weakly as Garuss cast aside the Emperor’s hand. He shakily rose on his own and lowered his head in defeat, submitting to the Emperor of Mankind. The Emperor viewed his new son suspiciously, uneasy at the ease with which he had tried to dominate the minds of his kin. He would require watching.
Upon his defeat at the hands of the Emperor, Garuss was informed of his birthright and fate. He was put at the head of the XI legion, which he renamed the Sword Brethren after his old tribe. Garuss swore himself to the Emperor grudgingly, and it is said that their relationship was strained. Garuss constantly raged at decisions taken by the Emperor and often disobeyed direct orders. Despite their similarity in temperament, he also despised Angron and the feeling was most definitely mutual.
It was this constant insubordination that gained Garuss the distrust of his Father. Whilst the Sword Brethren viewed their Primarchs behaviour as Free Spirit, the Emperor and the other legions viewed it as lack of discipline.
It was this free spirit that would cost the Legion the most. The Legion was ordered to cleanse a world of all life in preparation for a Mechanicum Forge Fleet to remake it into a forward base. However, when the Sword Brethren landed, they found several tribes similar to the ones their Primarch had been raised by. Something stirred in Garuss and he refused to cleanse the world. He installed himself as the leader of the world and demanded the Imperium leave the people be. Word got back to the Emperor, who was furious.
A vast fleet of Imperial Ships soon blockaded the planet, and the Emperor demanded that Garuss surrender. Garuss claimed the Emperor had never loved him or his people and demanded his Father leave this area of space. The Emperor implored his son to see reason, but it was too late. Garuss unleashed his psychic ability and transported the entire world out of the sector and to places unknown. A scan of the area revealed a single corpse floating in space: Garuss Acine, Primarch of the XI Legion, had sacrificed himself to catapult the world and his legion out of harms way. The Legions existence was expunged from the records and Garuss’ corpse was interred in Jupiter with full honours.
The Sword Brethren were registered as lost by the Council and the Emperor. Where they are now is a mystery. Some say they entered foul alliances with Xenos to fight against the Imperium, and some speculate they still defend the Imperium covertly. There are some who even say that the Legion broke down into smaller forces, each fighting for their interests. Whatever the truth The Sword Brethren, and their Primarch, are never spoken of in official company. The fact that another Primarch met a similar fate is a topic of great shame for the Imperium, however not as great as the Heresy that would follow…

Legendary Master of the Chapter
|
Well my Chapter the Storm Crusaders have lost their orgin's to the claws of time. We are a Proud Chapter who Can only point out that they were founded during the 2nd Founding heres some history.
The Storm Crusaders also known as the Black fists have been at war with many xenos creatures. It has also been noted that the chapter has an unusual amount of psykers and battle brothers. In Total There are 30 companies each having 4 librarians in the exception to the 20th and 19th companies. The chapter in battle is fierce ally and foe most of the chapter already being battle scared veterans the chapters tactics are quite simple fall from the sky like angels. The chapter’s home world Drancrois also known as Kainlon. The Chapter can trace its origins to the Second founding. The Chapter in total may possess up to 5,000 Battle Brothers, this is a massive amount but this came to be because the Storm Crusaders are spread throughout the universe. Their Home world Kainlon, is a Jungle World, and below its surface is a giant city and a fortress Monastery in its center. This City is Called Asherian. This named after the first Chapter Master Asherian who was a warrior like any other. It is also noted that the Chapter Fleet is larger than most chapters. Possessing 9 Battle Barges and many space vehicles so that the chapter is never out of reinforcements. The Chapter Has been known to possess technology thought lost to mankind (most notably many STC’s that can produce geneseed, power armor, and many other vehicles and armor.). The Chapter maintains a large amount of recruiting worlds across the Galaxy. They Follow the Codex Astrates But they also follow the Books of Asherian which are tomes that structure the Chapter and keep it in order and to better fight in war. The Storm Crusaders Chapter Master or Grand Templar is Calnor Alrnria. He is a bearer of a weapon that can slay daemons with one stroke. The Storm Crusaders for Recuriting maintain Fortress for each Company.

the new and improved Fluff, with a cliff hanger for the next part to be added in(yes that means this is a work in progress and more will be added on).
The nameless planet was many sizes greater than Terra, and in their need to locate their kin Horus offered to search alongside Fulgrim to the northern side of the planet while the Emperor would search the southern. The Emperor saw the wisdom in this and agreed, and the two forces took off to hunt for the lost son.
It was Horus and Fulgrim that found their lost brother while out foraging for supplies. The three sized each other, Garuss finding something similar in these two beings to himself. This brought a great uneasiness to him, and when Fulgrim stepped forward to gain a better angle and try and speak with his newly found brother. He had angled to far off to the side, and in his blind belief of his brother being perfect he failed to see the risk of triggering any sort of reaction. Fulgrim’s arrogance and positioning, triggered a natural reaction of anything when cornered, Garuss attacked. His will power crashed like an ocean against a shore as it slammed into Fulgrim’s mind, sending his brother crash backwards. Horus enraged at the attack of a close brother surged forward to close with his “rebellious” brother. While Fulgrim struggled to gain his footing, Garuss reached out to his powers, energy flowing forth to sheath his weapon in his psychic power.
The three brothers clashed for days, destroying the woods about them as they fought. Fulgrim was clearly caught in the middle of a fight between equals, for even without the advanced war gear and teaches of the Emperor Garuss gave no ground to Horus, while still bashing Fulgrim aside when he had the opening. Though the fighting would subside on the fifth day, as a new being found the fight, the Emperor had found his sons. Horus glanced from Garuss to look to his father, in that moment Garuss brought his mace down upon Fulgrim’s head while he held him pinned under a foot. The blow would have beheaded anything less, but it merely knocked his fell Primarch out cold reaching down her acquired Fireblade from Fulgrim’s limp hand.
This quickly drew Horus’s attention and wrath back upon him, and the two Primarch clashed again, Garuss roaring out his battle lust and savage joy. But their fight was not to last, with a booming voice the Emperor commanded Horus to stand down. That voice brought a flash of memories to Garuss, he clutched his head as they came flooding back in flashes, making things all but impossible to understand. Garuss could suddenly feel something probing his mind as if searching for something. He locked down his mental barrier and charged at the Emperor with his full fury, no longer thinking straight driven by an animal urge to round on what it viewed as an attacker.
The Emperor bid Horus to tend to his wounded brother and stand aside. Then the Emperor pounced upon the young upstart.
Waking with a start, Garuss leapt to his feet, weapons drawn.
His power leapt from him toward the Emperor, he knew naught cowardice and only his foe would gain his attention, so in a final act of defiance he attacked his foe one last time. The last of his power built up into a single and blunt attack, there was only one to finish the fight in Garuss’s mind, either crush his foe in one blow or go down swinging.
The Emperor viewed his new son suspiciously, uneasy at the fact that there was a great distrust and loathing from him. He would require watching.
Upon his defeat at the hands of the Emperor, Garuss was informed of his birthright and fate. He was put at the head of the XI legion, which he promptly renamed as Heralds of Despair. And as he spent more time with his Sons, Garuss would brake the structure, reshaping his fighting force into ten different fighting forces. Each led by a warrior as wild and free of mind and spirit as himself. Garuss would swear himself to the Emperor grudgingly, and it is said that their relationship was strained. Garuss constantly raged at decisions taken by the Emperor and often disobeyed direct orders. Despite their similarity in temperament, he also despised Angron and the feeling was most definitely mutual.
It was this constant insubordination that gained Garuss the distrust of his Father. Whilst the Heralds viewed their Primarchs behaviour as Free Spirited, the Emperor and the other legions viewed it as lack of discipline.
It was this free spirit that would cost the Legion the most. As was norm of Garuss he tossed aside his orders and chased after a band of Eldar as they struck a insulting blow. In truth the legion was so enthralled in the hunt that all contact with the Imperium was lost. The Legion as a whole hounded the smaller Eldar force for months which ebbed into years in the back waters of the galaxy. These actions would only lead the 11th Legion further and further away from the known space of man.
The Farseer had tired of being chased and sought to lose her pursuers, leading her fleet towards a brewing warp storm that if all would go as planned would ensnare the Legion and force them to land on one of the closer planets, or die trying to chase down the nimble Eldar fleet.
The Legion chased without thought, before them was their enemy and they where mere moments from closing with them. Aboard the Flagship Dawning Justice a message from Terra was received recalling all legions to Terra. The Eldar’s trap worked well, in fact too well, for not only was the Legion denied the chance to return to Terra, but the Eldar fleet was dragged into the storm as well. The massive Astartes Fleet was forced to blindly plow forward toward the nearest survivable planet.
The fleet arrived battered and beaten upon the surface of the planet, but the sheer volume of ships forced the Legion to land in ten different places. As the massive Astartes fleet made land fall they soon found the locals, a world long cut off from the rest of mankind, a world that had started over. As Garuss and his sons explored the world, Garuss was shocked at how greatly it reminded him of his own world. Upon watching the locals for months, they found that all ten battle formation had found their own civilization to care for, and that is just what they did. They presented themselves to the locals, and where quickly accepted as gods in the flesh, though Garuss refused this belief and instead brought education to the masses, helping to expanding the world as best he could. The word of the Emperor and of the Imperium spread throughout the many lands. Gaining the Legion a new Home World. But the peace that they Legion had found was not to last.

a huge thanks to Dark Lord for his help, his works have greatly encouraged and inspired(as well as gave helpful molds to work from) me to pick this up and fine tune it, I did take his reworked fluff, and now am reworking it again.
@Asherian Command: I fail to see why you would put your fluff up in someone else fluff section.....this is a place asking for opinons on the fluff currently written, the only reason Dark Lord put anything up was because he was kind enough to do such after I requested it of him. so please more your fluff to your own page.

It's a good rewrite man, just something for you to consider.
You said earlier the legion is broken down into chapters to throw off the inquisition. There's a few problems with that.
(a) I assume your legion vanishes before the old HH, and therefore they have no access to the Codex Astartes, therefore aren't actually chapters. They would in fact be closer to Chaos Warbands, or splinter factions as opposed to new chapters proper.
(b) Out of all the many bodies that the Imperium is made up of, the Inquisition is the one in the know. They would know the difference between a faithful chapter and a decoy one.
(c) plus your legion seems to be a proud warrior/psyker legion (strangely like a mix between the World Eaters and Thousand Sons) and I don't see such a chapter splitting into smaller shards that willingly (only the Alpha Legion would do such a thing, which would make your legion an amalgamation of three already existing legions)
Why give them succesors at all. Surely a legion such as this deserves to be kept together.
And I'm still a little iffy on the Legion name: The Swords of Terra. The Terra part seems abit improper, as your Primarch has nothing but laothing for the Imperium and Terra. Surely a more adequate name could be found??

@ Dark Lord: well you bring up some valid points, they vanish right on the verge of the HH, without giving too much away of what is to come
A)they vanish just as things are about to happen, and return after the war settles down, long after the other primarchs have met their fate, and the twelve lords of terra have their seat of power. they will have their first run in with the Inquisition here, finding someone to loath just as much as the Lords of Terra. and a quick question, back in the days of the Legions, how did the break up of command go, I have yet to find any real formation, I know they had companies, but what was the next size up?(I used chapters as the logical choice here, but if you know that would be awesome, because each Legion wasn't just run by the Primarch there where "lords" under his command that would lead as well)
B) that they would, but even they would have issues keeping track of all of thousands of chapters, as a whole they would be able to spot a phony, but as a single Inquistor Lord, or any ruling goverment offical could be bluffed through. they are still for all true meanings loyal to the Emperor's cause, to play the role of pawn to keep them hidden is not below them.
C) that they are, and it was only on the verge of the Legion's death that they truely broke appart, goign their own handfuls of ways towards an aggreed upon gathering place. this of course would allow them to stay hidden easier as well as recruit and rebuild faster. and it is during these times that the chapters truely become their own.
Terra has more of a deep meaning to them than just the Imperium center, it is the birth place of mankind. so the Legion sees them selves as the Sword of Terra, or the swords of mankind.
another note, something I will have to bring out, is that Garuss will come to see the Emperor's path as too short sighted, a step in the right direction but far to short sided. to bring true peace to the stars, one must unite the races as one, as the Emperor sought to unite mankind Garuss seeks to bring to fruitation the "true" goal of the Emperor.
please keep the C&C coming, I can't thank you enough man, and hope to not take up too much of your time.

Well, all the legios wirked differently with varying numbers and companies. The Emperors Children for example had Lord Commanders, wereas the White Scars had the brethren of the Khan. Essentially, the only similiartity was:
1: Primarch
2: Strong Figurehead at the top of each formation
3: Captains
4: Sergeants
5: Marines
But each had its own unique functionaries (eg. The Luna Wolves Mournival, the honorifics of the 1st, 3rd and 7th company of Death Guard, the utter lack of honorifics from the World Eaters etc)

From the shadows of the new world, bitter and vengeful eyes watched the Legion settle itself in on the world. For ten years, that was all they did, glare and watch the workings of mankind. The legion had begun the act of recruitment after the fifth years on their new home, now another two waves of recruits where brought in for training. It was during one of the many training exercises that the hidden watchers made themselves known. Though it was no fault of their own, during a training of the newer recruits a boltgun misfired. The deadly projectile screamed into the wood line just behind the firing lines. As the sergeant set to work “counseling“ the young recruit a slender frame dropped from the trees. The shouting abruptly stopped, as all eyes moved to the body. The full brothers among the recruits reacted without thought, bringing their weapons to bear and roaring out commands for the recruits.
Glass like blades showered down from the tree line shredding through exposed flesh, and armor alike. Marshalling the recruits into a defensivelbe position the marine’s counter attack was just as brutal. The hills echoed for miles as the roar of roughly a fifty boltguns firing in unison. Though it was nowhere near as effect or as drilled as full brother marines, the recruits gave their all.
When all was said and done, the marines moved throughout the tree line, locating the remains of their attackers. Through the gore, an all too familiar color was found on the armor. The elder host they had been hunting, had been found.
The Legion soon mobilized and began to prowl the lands after their hated foe, and in a war that would last hundreds of years, the Legion was beginning to bring about one of its most dire of times.
