i decided earlier today to try my hand at scratch building a titan. naturally i started with the smallest, a warhound.
i have already built part of one leg, and plan to continue once i have PVC piping tomorrow...

Groovin' so far, although the foam in the cracks looks a little weird. I'm not sure how you would solve this, but there must be a way.

WaaaaghLord, great work so far

looking forward to seeing more progress

one thing, i think you have the lower leg parts on back to front
have a look at the 2nd page of photos for the mars patern warhound on the forge world site
you will find some really good detail on how the legs go together

http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/matitan1.htm

keep up the good work

yeah, i've kinda fixed that now. thanks for the head-up brotherSnarfu...although i basically had to detach and rebuild the legs xD
yeah, so the lower torso is on the legs now, pictures later.

also, i had an idea to hide the gaps in the legs. since its going to be a Chaos warhound, i plan to have lots of chaos symbols placed erratically on the mini made from card. thus hiding the gaps

Naw use some ready made spackle. Its less expensive and easier to use for filling.

looking great so far

i still think you have the lower legs a bit off, the two botom sections of each leg need to be rotated 180

if it would be any help i could post a photo of my own scratch built warhound for your reference

but keep up the great work, looking forward to seeing more progress

theyre in the RAR file on that site. they need modification depending on the thickness of the materials used, as theyre designed for paper

The legs do seem off. rip out those bottle tops and get some 1" bulsa (or broom handle!) and cut these to fit in the circled quarters (wood glue or pva should hold)

@ f74:
im already on it

@ trevy the great:
mostly foamboard and the top of a shampoo bottle thats roughly the right shape. and then some green resin my friend casts.

also, after playing an apocalypse game today with my orks (we won btw), i am not sure wheter to use this as a part of my looted imperial tank company, which i use regularly allied with my orks. how many people do you think would have a probelm with this if i use it at grot or even ork ballistic skill?

just because i want to call it the Waaagh!Hound, really xD

this looks great .Whenever i try building big things with plasticard it always goes horribly wrong! the other day i built a mini titan (it uses the rules for the brass scorpion) and it looks great, soon i will start a forum where people can post their convershuns, with a theme each time, so watch this space! but this looks even better! do you still have the templates? that would rock my socks
