I am trying to design an effective list that can beat necrons, my friends army mainly consists of warriors,2 monoliths and a couple of lords, he may also use the nightbringer.
My list is as follows:
Ghazgull- used for "prophet of waagh" rule and generally kicks ass. Can also face nightbringer if with boyz to help
Big mekk with kff- help protect boys on the way to the fighting
4 squads of 30 sluggas with PKnob for each squad- this will overwhelm his troops which cost 3 times as much as one boy
15 deffkopters with buzzsaws- these will zip around the board and take out those pesky monoliths
I havn't worked out the details such as points yet, I was wondering whether there are any massive flaws in this list so far though..
Any input is appreciated
Thanks

How are you intending to deal with the Nightbringer?
Or will you avoid and go for phase out?

Deffkoptas are ineffectual against Monoliths. With Rokkits you will glance on a 6. The Buzzsaws are only S7 on the charge so they are incapable of hurting monoliths.

I guess you could use a squad of PK nobz to take out the monoliths.

If he's got monoliths and Nightbringer his phase out number has got to be something ridiculously low. Just kill the easy gak. Let Nightbringer get bogged down killing 5 Orks a turn while Ghaz and the Koptas shoot and scoot into melee with the squishies.

Yes, Darth's got it. At the 'Ard Boyz tournament I managed to drop two monoliths with a Nob unit. Remember, on Turn 2 Nobs in a trukk with red paint have a 27" potential assault range. (13"+2" disembark +1d6" waagh! +6" assault). Put 3 PKs on the nobs; if the monolith didn't move you'll autohit with 12 S9 attacks!

Don't worry about the Nightbringer, me and my friend did the math and Ghaz can take him down
Power Klaws are your best bet at taking down Monoliths, so those Deffkoptas will have no problem with taking them out.
Remember, those Monoliths can't fire both of their weapons because the Particle Whip (the template weapon) is an Ordnance weapon (so if he fires that, he can't fire anything else).

Right, i have taken this advice into account and have noticed several things:
Firstly the deffcopters cannot hurt the monolith as they are strenght 7 they dont get furious charge because they charging a monolith
however they are still useful for taking out the nightbringer.
Secondly that Nobs in some sort of fast transport like bikes, battlewagon trukk woulb very helpful as they can actually take out the monoliths.
Thirdly, incase sour clams hasnt noticed, necrons are far from squishy, they have a 3+ save and the wwbb rule to add to this. They are still killable though with enough boyz.
I will probably alter my army list slightly so that there are more nobz and less copterz.
Thanks for the advice

Necron warriors are, however, squishy compared to monoliths and the nightbringer. Slaughter the warriors and phase him out.
