I recently got a hold of a couple of armorcast warhound titans, one primed gray one half painted.
I decided I could keep myself motivated by keeping a WIP of them here

Both are armed with a twin turbolaser and a plasma blastgun. Since one is already mostly red and black I am going to stick with that for my colors
and go with a Legio Metallica theme

They look cute. I want to pet them.

Man I wish I had a warhound.

(I often looked in old white dwarfs when I was little and still think one can only have warhounds in pairs. It feels wrong to see them solo.)

There both going to start with blood red over most the armor plates. Black for the raised bits and dry brushed boltgun metal on the working bits my skills are lacking so shading and blending may be kept to minimum. Then the Legio Metallica black and yellow stripes over one of the main body plates. Proper icons and banners I have found in some of the old white dwarfs and titan legion rule books.

they will both get some ink wash and battle damage when i am done so they dont look so new. i doupt there have been alot of newly created titan of this style in a long time

Yeah I have those and if I can get some transfer paper I may use them. The banners though I plan to print onto iron on paper. Get them onto some cloth then paint with watered down white glue. I haven't tried that ever yet but it sounds like a good idea in my head.

Those of you that haven't worked with Armorcast might be surprised to know. Most of the kit is Bolt together the body comes apart and there are bolt holes for the arms and torso to be attached. This makes them a little easier to transport

Here they are assembled for show. Now to take them apart and start on painting

a great model. too bad I was never able to do it any justice. but Im positive, that youll get the job done just fine!!

Wow nothing like a photo to bring out all the flaws in what you thought was great work.
looks like i have alot more work now that i have seen these. I will work on details once i get my hands on some decal paper

I also think the camera picks out a few things you miss when your looking at the model in person

I dont think its to bad for a couple hours work. This is the largest paiting project I have taken on.

wow i can see the mistakes but its such a big model who can't still is this an old titan becuase ive never seen it before still it looks really reddish....LOL

Why don´t you paint the coils of the plasma cannon fluorescent green or blue? That way you´ll break the monotony of red/metal on the arms.

i did the coils up blue at first but they really really stood out. one half of the carapace needs white/black stripes and there are some decals coming to break it up.

the red isnt so brught when your look at it in person
