This is one of my favourite models from GW, and one of my favourite paint jobs I've done. I wanted an 'earthy' feel to him, so he'd look like he would blend into the scenary. He's painted black, Foundation Granite, and then either highlighted up the Greys for the black clothing, or up to Foundation Gretchin Green for the armour. The base I cut a hole into and formed a false bottom, and progressively built up some of the water effects into it to create a small pool. And VERY regrettably, I need to raise some ££££, so he's up for grabs on Ebay. Shame, he's one of my favourites

Don't remind me ! There's a lot more to come I'm afraid, but at least they'll go to good homes, I think by the end of tonight I'll have around 30 models on Flea Bay.

Funnier still, I thought he had a Scuba flipper on his left foot. Man that thing is huge!

All fun aside, that's some very nice painting.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. I don't want to sell my stuff, but I can either default on other payments and either loose my car or my house, or, I can do this. It's hard to do, when you've put so much time and effort in them, but life has priorities and this comes a close second to keeping the car I need for work, or the house I need to live in.

I have in terms of armies.....

A complete Company of Legion of the Damned
A Full Steel Legion Company +8000pts
A Huge Genestealer Cult + 8000pts
Pure Thousand Son's + 6000pts.

I've also got a load of Characters from various armies that I've painted up because I like the models.

Dude, I empathise about losing/selling such beautiful models for hard times. I hope everything straightens out for you.

Pop a Link in your Sig, that would be helpful.

"And what is wrong with their life? What on earth is less reprehensible than the life of the Levovs?"
- American Pastoral, Philip Roth

Oh, Death was never enemy of ours!
We laughed at him, we leagued with him, old chum.
No soldier's paid to kick against His powers.
We laughed - knowing that better men would come,
And greater wars: when each proud fighter brags
He wars on Death, for lives; not men, for flags.

I have been there myself. Pretty much all of my best work was sold along time ago. I was much better then. I have been back pretty strong for the past year. I almost had to relearn how to paint. You can make money that way. I was making a killing with special characters. You have a talent and if you can make money at it I say more power to you. Hard to let them go but I know how you feel. You will bounce back.

They're awesome paintjobs and by noising them about Dakka there's probably a better chance of them going to a "good home" where they'll be display pieces rather than stripped like most of the garbage that goes up on Ebay.

Although it's mighty tempting to kitbash some of those Gorkamorka... NO! Bad Solasun!
