hey everyone, well after playing a normal space marine army, and then trying out the tau, i started to want an assault army, but not give up my shooting at the same time(i blame the kroot, should have seen them in close combat against a bunch of gaunts, they held their own and then the the Shas'o jumped over killing four in the first assault, needless to say i was hooked on assaulting), when i had first started playing i thought the space wolf army was to different for me to jump right into, but after playing the marines and the tau i and looking over the SW codex i have to say they caught my eye. i love how each squad you can have a terminator in its squad, which makes all my squads that much harder to kill not to mention more tan 2 HQs, i mean yeah its expensive but worth it, not to mention i can use Ven Dreadnoughts as HQs so killing my leader just became harder, not too mention that can be alot of dreadies, plus the normal elite choices, so for a 2500pt game i could throw out six of them, anyways, the next step was to keep them in the fluff of the rest of my army(for Apoc games so they could easily be fielded together) so i took the 2nd chapter name and quickly filled in their fluff to be close to that of the space wolves, and even let the two chapters have some plausible background to each other, besides i love the idea of aggressive space vikings but i wanted to add my own twist to it all, i will be adding pictures so please C+C i know i will get plenty of "not a good paint scheme", "so plain, no thought" and the like, but the fact is i like a plain color scheme, and besides why go extreme, most modern armies have a rather dull color scheme, and thats what i am going for, a mix of Gritty, Worn and New to show the newer pack mates. well hope you all enjoy

another note, i plan to use nothing but Leman Russ and other IG tanks for Heavy support choice and just toss aside SM tanks in exchange for them, i will keep the fast attack choices, Land Speeders and Bikes, prehaps Hellhounds as well, voice what you all think, also i would like to know what you all think, any help on the costs of BS increases to SM levels would be very helpful, well hope to hear from you all

They don't really look like Space wolves, they look like silvery drybrushed marines. You can make them appear gritty by applying a more consistent and thorough se of the silver and applying washes or adding dirt marks to them.

I think a more consistent and heavier use of silver will give a more uniform and "painted" look. Maybe silver with a badab or black wash would give you the proper shading, and then highlight very slightly with mithril. That should give a fantastic look. I think nothing looks better than a properly done metallic marine force. Good luck.
