If asked "what is the greatest thing in 40k", Conan's answer would definately be: "To defeat your enemy, see him driven before you, while wearing a giant stompy robot suit". I'm certainly not man enough to contradict Conan, in fact I have a thing for stompy robots. My marine army has 3 dreadnoughts and my tau is choc full of battle suits. The next step had to be an AdMech army, but what codex to use? I flirted with the idea of a lost and the damned army (I've been playing with this idea in my head for a while), but thankfully had a better idea (getting squatted generally offends). which army can have the most big stompy robots (BSRs)...TYRANIDS! No seriously, BSRs as monstrous creatures, servitors as gaunts and tech priests as zoanthropes. Synapse represents remote control...

Thus was born the Legio Cybernetica, under command of Magos Dmitri.

So without further ado, meet Cerberus, my walkrant equivalent...

...and his guards...

and his buddy, the AVATAR OF THE MACHINE GOD (it has to be chanted).

More to follow soon.

Thats a pretty awesome idea, and they look well converted and painted. Nicely done.

"I.. I know my time has come" Tethesis said with a gasp, a torrent of blood flowing from his lips.
"No! Hang on brother!!" Altharius could feel the warmth slip away from his dear sibling's hands

Tethesis's reached out his bloodied arm to Altharius's face.
"I..I have one final request"
Altharius leaned close to listen, tears welling in his once bright eyes.
"make sure th..they put my soulstone in a tank... it'll be... real fethin' cool"
"Yes, you're gonna be the most fethin' cool tank!!" burning hot tears streaked down Altharius's face, as he held his brother's soul in his grasp.

Great conversions. I like the army concept and would love to see this built up at a 1500 point level. It would be a very original army for folks to play against.

Thanks for sharing with us.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

Cheers Gents (something of an assumption there, but probably a fair one).

First some fluff:
The Cybernetica Division of the Adeptus Mechanicus researches the link between mortal and God, man and machine. It's artifice allows all followers of the machine God to merge with machinery, improving the function of all, from the lowliest servitor to the Magos manufactorium rulers.

Criminals and recidivists on Holy Mars are given the opportunity to serve again in the form of Cybernetica servitors. The most robust of their kind serve in the Legio Cybernetica, the armies of the Devisio Cybernetica. The combination of mortal spirit and immortal machine creates some of the greatest and most deadly servents of the machine God, but a mighty machine can only be tamed by an indominable spirit. People with the willpower required to merge with the most powerful of the legio's machines are few and far between. Those with the ability and a will to serve may be inducted into the titan legions, those without into the Legio Cybernetica. Irrespective of willingness to serve, such great individuals are venerated within the Legio, and thus the combined cybernetica device is named after it's human component. Within the 13th Legion these devices take the form of assault walkers: bipedal constructs with the firepower to rival the battle tanks of the imperial guard, technically referred to as B.S.Rs. Generally these walkers stem from the same fundamental design, with the number of activated offensive and defensive sub-systems determined by the limitations of the human component.

Magos Dmitri oversees the construction and deployment of the Legio Cybernetica 13th Legion. Dmitri inherited the role of Magos after the accident that caused the near death of his master, Magos Vostrova. The investigation into Vostrova's accident was cut short by the infamous Meinhoff uprising, during which the 13th Legion had a pivitol role. In the aftermath of the rebellion the investigation was not reopened and Dmitri cleared of any wrongdoing. In the Adeptus Mechanicus results matter more than innocence.

Under Dmitri two new classes of B.S.R. Have been produced: the Cerberus class and the Avatar class. Speculation about these devices is rampant amongst the Legio Cybernetica as they do not conform to any STC design. However, Dmitri remains silent as to their origins, and their lethality ensures that any official questions are not asked too forcefully in his presence. Vostrova still serves the machine god as the biological component of the avatar class BSR, mind wiped to remove all knowledge of his previous position. It is generally viewed as a terrific boon for Vostrova to be able to serve even in near death, though not a fate any Magos would wish to share.

Under Dmitri's command the 13th Legion is currently deployed on the ice world of Solaris IV, searching for relics of a forgotten age.

Then some pics. Meet Vladimir and Natalya, the twins:

Kicks butt, ga-dude.
Loving the super-shooty Cerebrus that actually has some firepower rather than an old man sitting on a throne and waving his sword around.
The Cyber-Ogryn was a nice touch but I think the Night Bringer-Machine-God-Avatar stole the picture. Excellently done.

Time for another BSR- this time its Anya, my dakkafex equivalent:

And finally, Oddjobs AdMech in it's full 1500pt glory:

So dakkites, any ideas on how to improve the look of the army? My first two ideas are to make the troops pretty (a bit basecoatish at the moment) and to add name scrolls to the base of each important model. Once I did this to my blood bowl team I became much more interested in the models. Good times- reminising about Rock and Hardplace the mummies and Deathwish the wight.

Thats any converters dream- when people have to ask what the bits are!

[chant]Vostrova, avatar of the machine god [/chant]- Main body is the nightbringer, fists from a penitent engine and the wings/halo from varoius imperial vehicle bits that were in my bitsbox. Mostly from an oldschool rhino I think.
Venom cannon/Barbed strangler- lots of parts from the IG heavy weapons squads boxed sets. Main aspect of BS is three mortars stuck together. Barrels from the venom cannon from autocannons.
Devourers- Landraider lascannons and IG grenade launchers.

I feel naked, like a magician explaining his tricks (the magic goes when you can see the original bits).

I'm looking for feedback on individual models/units, so would appreciate it if you lot would mind rating the images in the gallery.
