Subject: Which Out Of These 3 Necron Lists Is The Most Effective?

Long story short I began creating a fully converted robotic Mechanicus cult army using the Necron codex a while back, problem is I can’t decide on which is the best list to use thanks to the 5th edition making Necrons probably the hardest army to play in 40k, especially in a competitive game.
People keep telling me that I should wait until the new codex, but that won’t be out till mid 2010 and I really want to create this army and show off some of my conversions.
So vote for which list you think is best and if you can make a few suggestions on how it could be improved. just remember thought that I don’t want to ditch any models as I wish to include all of my conversions in the army (except the monolith)

The third list is almost identical to my recent tournament list. I dropped 2 warriors and 1 immortal for 2x4 scarab packs, and rather than destroyers, I had the deceiver run in front. It won the tourney for me, so it can't be too shabby. Go for that one.

Oooo show me this list cause I'm thinking of taking a deciever now?

Are heavy destroyers not worth it in 5th? Seeing as how glancing can't really kil tanks quickly or reliably anymore, I'd think they're pretty important to 5th ed Necrons, especially with the mech lists being fairly popular with the new SM codex.
Deceiver was incredible in 4th edition, and is probably still awesome in 5th, I'd look into runnin him for sure.
To be honest, I would probably cut the Monolith for some (at 1500pts probably 3) Heavy Destroyers. Then try to find the points for Deceiver, probably by dropping an Immortal or two, a Warrior or two, and a few Destroyers.

You'll have to drop more than that to get three heavy destroyers and the deciever in, thats a solid 495 points for those 4 models.
Monolith -235
Still need to come up with 260 points, you'd have to drop more than just a couple others.
At 1500 points, the deciever is, imo, not worth it. He's too pricey for that small of a game and just nails your phase out number hard, which currently, is the necron weakness.
I voted for list 3, looks good, I like it. A little more AT could be in order, possibly in the form of heavy destroyers in place of the lith, or in place of the regular destroyers (which in 5th just aren't worth it with the gauss nerf). You already have plenty of anti-infantry, as thats what both immortals and warriors do best.

Ah yea, I should have been more clear. I'd definitely make room for Heavy Ds, then try to wiggle in Deceiver. If it doesn't work out, then its not a huge loss to not have him in 1500pt games.

If you're open to new ideas, put this one on for size:
Two Monoliths, 2 squads of 20 warriors each. HQ: Lord with a rez orb and warscythe attached to each.
Hold both monoliths in reserve. Poop the warriors out of the deep striking monoliths, and use them to carve up a table into segments, borg-like.
Deep striking monoliths + warriors exiting the door + turbo-boosting scarabs / destroyers let you focus INSANE amounts of firepower and attention onto any one spot at a time, and you can position your warriors in such a way (door facing on the monolith) to insulate them with a monolith acting as shielding....and as long as the monolith lives, you'll keep having 2 WBB rolls.
