Help? A challenge for you if you will. Build a 40K list from this mélange of interesting minis. If you dare

I am looking to re-start 40K again vs. a several month hiatus (rarely played 5th ed). I am looking to make as competitive a demon army as possible from the minis I have. It doesn’t have to be first tier, just not have me feeling I am playing with one hand tied behind my back. This is a list that started as the demonic contingent to an LATD list, then a “demon world list” using Nid rules prior to the new Demon book, and now attempting to use the demon codex. Most of them are converted, hence the cacophony of different pieces. This is not for tournament but local play and leagues.

Tzeentch herald on disc
One sorcerer that could count as a Tzeentch herald of some sort

3 Tzeentch screamers (the flying ones)
9 Tzeentch flamers
2 spawn

Conversions:
*12 nurgling stands (or could stand in for other types of nurgle or even tzeentch I guess-they are shambling mound minis that look most closely like spawn)
*14 demonette cav. (cold ones actually. I guess could stand in for slaanesh fiends or bloodcrushers with larger bases as well but more appropriately sized for Demon cav.)
*20 demonettes
*45 bloodletters
*1 bloodletter herald

*1 Belakor which can stand in for either a Bloodthirster or Tzeentch GD (prefer BT)

*2 soul grinders. At least one is required in any force of 1700 or more as they are special conversions inspired by my rugrat kids.

*In addition, I can fall back on 3-4 converted dragon ogres and 2 Shaggoths for, as counts as for something.

Until I get a decent amount of potential games I am not looking to add minis in any meaningful way.

Which edition cold ones are we talking about? Also if you are willing to do some converting a herald of tzeentch on a chariot is really nice. If you take 2 of screamers you have laying around and the other sorcerer you have all the makings of a chariot. Just need the chariot body. I have some pics floating around of a real simple body using some flying bases and dark elf spear tips (which if you have cold ones you might have some spears .

Reason I suggest that is because right now the scribes can only hide out in a flamer unit, and that will get toasted pretty quickly. You are better off doing some converting work and getting one possible 2 heralds on chariots in there for an hq choice. That would make for a real easy bump up to 1850 (The herald I'm talking about is 110 Herald of Tzeentch w/ chariot, we are legion, master of sorcery, bolt of tzeentch, and he comes with daemonic gaze).

Revised list. no chariot in this one, although looking at that strongly as an option.

Everything can at least glance vehicles in CC. Almost everything has a power weapon or breath which has no armor or cover save.

Figure letters follow the crushers up the middle football style while flamers/screamers/thirster come up center then hit flank. Soulgrinders pop rounds after goes after whatever big gets close.

you can ditch the screamers, never really had real success with them in game..

i'd take out the tzeentch heralds/and screamers for 2 heralds of khorne on chariot, they add a big punch to the army, and they're gona have to make the hard choice between a str 7 on a charge chariot to your flying BT.

You have the slots left, I would split the flamers into 2 groups of 3.

Any reason in particular you ditched the scribes? The pavane is a very nice bonus feature, and you are getting everything else that the herald you are using has and they are very close in points.

Why not replace one of the bloodletter packs with your shambling mounds and use them as horrors of tzeentch, then you can add the changeling in to them, and get a little more shooting.

Or mabye a little better drop the screamers and the bloodletters down to 10 man units, and you could probably add the whole horror unit in.

I didn't Warmaster. I didn't have the scribes in the list intiially. I currently only have the Tzeentch on a disc mini, although might include that as a test. This is just test list 1.0 as it were.

You have a point on the horrors and will be something to think about. I would like more troops.

Since there is no miniature for the scribes no one can complain about your champion on disc .
