Hey all, had a friend with a digi camera at the lgs today and he took some pictures (not many because his camera had a low battery) One of the pics he did take was of my Pedro Kantor. Ive been meaning to get pics of him to post on here. I'm happy to finally be able to show you all.

Very nice! I think a black or brown base rim is a bit better looking, but that is a personal preference. The gems could also use a bit of work to look more translucent. Minor quibbles. The highlighting is very well done, particularly on the laurels.

Very nicely done. The green and gold contrast nicely with the rest of the color scheme - out of curiosity, what did you do to get that blue? Necron Abyss?

love the model, fantastic sharp highlights and rich reds (my favourite!).

My only criticism is the base, unpainted basing material (the sand) always makes me cringe. Also I find that the classic goblin green base (while awesome on older models), reminds me of the infamous "Red Spear" syndrome from way back when. Just something that came into vogue and probably should be left forgotten! Whenever I try and resurrect the goblin green base on my own models/commissions, I always get bummed out.

But nonetheless, super impressed and a wonderful model.

Ah hey thanks for all the congrats and kudos.

As for the questions ill tyr to answer them to the best of my ability

Golden shoulder pad.

Now when I first saw something like this done it was on a local gamers chaplain. I tried my best to copy it and I did a fairly good job. The colors and steps I used were.

Tausept ochre
iyanden darksun
1/2 iyanden darksun 1/2 golden yellow
golden yellow
skull white

I also took some black ink in between the tau and iyanden to separate the (feathers?) On the shoulder pads. Also I very carefully did it at the end just to fix any minor mistakes in the groves.

Red on the p fist.

Now with the red I have to say its now my fav part of any model to paint (hence my now all p fist carrying sergeants) Belive it or not other thne the highlighting on the armor its super easy to get this look.

Steps and colors are:

Scab red
black ink (thinned down. I always use thinned down inks)
red gore
blood red (as a very fine line)

For the sash I used a little bit of skull white in the paint to pick out the edges.

As for the blue well its a custom blue. Im not sure exactly what the ratio is (took me half an hour to mix it to the right color) But I think its some where around 7/10 regal and 3/10 midnight blue. I'm very happy with it and I think it brings out the classic crimson fist color better then necron abyss.

As for the green base when I first started painting about 11 years ago All my models had green bases. Ive always loved it so its just a personal pref.

As for the gems when i find some gloss in a pot they are going to get a layer.

The paintjob is very nice, I don't like the model much. It occurs to me that if you replaced his left arm, you'd get a decent surfing pose.
