I have heard that standard chaos marines are a little bigger then the death guard marines (GW boxed). Since I already have 7 death guards I am thinking of getting the standard and convert them to get some more shape variation in the army, but I dont want the army do look odd if the standard chaos marines are noticable bigger.

So do anyone have a size comparizon picture or some measurements (hight, width).

Assuming you mean the latest release of metal Plague Marines/Death Guard marines, it's not the sort of size difference that would matter.

I have several of the metal bodies with regular plastic CSM arms, and you can't even tell the difference.

I am fairly certain that, when they were making the sculpts for the metal Plague Marines, they used the plastic CSMs as a base and sculpted the Nurgle details over them.

Bellus bellum gratia.

You just made me check how big mine are!
I know that these dont have arms/ backpacks yet but I'd say that they are significantly smaller.
Sorry for the bad pics.

Yep thats the plague marines... But I ment the plastic standard chaos marines, that looks like the metal ones, but maybe the metal and plastic ones are the same size. Thanx for posting the pictures.

Ok, I see.
Seems from the pictures at least that the upper leg part is a bit longer on the standard ones. Maybe a leg-chop can reduce the hight to the same as the plague marines.

Sorry about that, the silver spray is probably a bit confusing but they are definately plastic, honest!
It's giving me pretty good and quick results so far.

Yes there is a minor size difference in the plastic CSM & the metal Death Guard, but the real problem, for me at least, comes when you GS the plastic CSM into suitable Death Guard & don't bulk up the metal ones, then the size differance is very obvious.
If you plan on using the metal Death Guard along with plastic CSM I strongly recomend beefing up the metals with some GS.

wow what is a big difference, well the least you can do, is not mix them in squads together as it'll get noticeable.

qwekel wants to get bigger, please click on him and level him up.

I was thinking the opposite. Mix and match all the way through. Black library fluff always bangs on about that marines vary in size and
proportion, just as humans do.
It's probably more chaotic that way and would probably look fine.

There another way around, cut before adding GS. If the belly is open and stuff is hanging out, its more realistic to first remove the appropriate volume before adding the GS.

I think really what it is, is the plague marines heads look squatty compared to a regular marines head. Gotta remember folks they are kindda melting and stuff

Well I got a nice deal on 2 boxes of CSM (20 models, 22£) + another deal on a bit box on ebay. Gonna kit-bash everything and cut the upper part of the plastic ones to get the hight down a bit. I hope that after some cutting and GS noone will be able to tell them apart, other then feeling the weight ofc.
Thanks everyone for sharing and contributing.

It's quite normal they're smaller, they're rotting away, and getting fatter at the same time.
