That's a pretty standard setup. You could go Ultramarines, or any general 'vanilla marine' chapter. Personally, I prefer to create my own chapters, etc.

iron hands and imperial could be right as well

i got one or to of my custom ones that could fit... but you sound like you want fluff confirmed ones

The Imperium of Man is able to traverse the Warp with difficulty when their Emperor concentrates from his golden life support machine and lights the way. Unfortunately, because the Emperor has the attention span of the average 5-year-old Pokemon fanboy, this means that many an unfortunate Imperial ship has had the WTF WHERE'D THE LIGHTS GO experience, which in the Warp is invariably fatal.

I suggest not imperial fists. Do you have any idea what painting that much yellow does to one's brain?

The Celestial Lions look like a good chapter, I think I'll paint them up once I strip all of my marines.

That's some well painted Angry Marines. Which is kinda like saying they are Special Olympics winners. Except that SO actually makes people feel good about something.

Perhaps painting the SMs as aligned with the Adeptus Mechanicus might be interesting. Sort of like Iron Hands ++.

I would just find colors you like (or want to paint) and base your chapter on that. Look at the Sons of Orar- Red UMs!

Black Templars are always a fav. Instead of army consideration you should think about what you like better.

Yes....

I've started the imperial fists color scheme myself after picking up a couple black reach sets and a 3rd dread. Love the fluff and all, but yellow is a very difficult color to paint well.

Out of the 4 selections you have there I would pick Raven Guard.

Relictors would be intereting but i suggest you rea dup on them abit, if you are serious about doing them.

if not go with hawk lords...

The Relictors are an interesting chapter, and they have the benefit of not being used much, so you will have an army that stands out.

I think hawk lords would also not be used much so i think its between raven guard, relictors and hawk lords because as axyl and elnicko5 said they would be a pain in the to paint

will read up on relictors

Raven Guard are more known for guerilla tactics and assault marines, not so much for dreads.

A nicely done Imperial Fist army looks amazing though...

Though a DIY codex chapter is just as neat.

Raven Guard- Very cool scheme, but both black and white take some skill to look good. Emphasis on fast attack and infiltration, so Shrike fits, but doesn't seem very fluffy dread heavy.

Hawk Lords- Basically loyalist Emperor's Children scheme. Purple and gold don't tend to be very hard and look great together. Not alot of fluff so plenty of room to make stuff up. Supposedly not fond of DPs (bad news for MM dreads). Name indicates that they probably like assault marines.

Imperial fists- Yellow gives some people fits. Not sure why. If you white undercoat, a thinned yellow wash works great. If you prime black, basecoat brown then basercoat yellow. Not too demanding in terms of comp- probably favor heavies like Vindis over lighter units, but they are also very flexible (though as strictly codex as UMs).

Relictors: A very interesting chapter. Renegades declared Excommunicate Traitoris for their use of Chaos artifacts. Unknown whether loyalist or not. Kind of a boring scheme, grey w/black shoulders. Useful as they can "switch hit" as loyalists or CSM, depending on your view.
