Last year I bought Battle Company, but it just sits there. My plan is to get a drop pod force going and expand form there.

1st wave
7 drop pods (5 done)
30 sterngard
2 dreads
2-3 tacticals
2 Librarians (done)
all special characters in SM codex in their chapter specific colors.

2nd wave
Khan & command squad on bikes
20 terminators
3 Land Raiders

How have you achieved the blue on the drop pods?
Is it just with drybrushing?

Oh wow, I love the drop pods, they look like they've actually seen some use rather than factory fresh (which isn't a bad thing all told...), and the details on the figures are really nicely done. Can't wait to see the rest of your force take shape too!

Very nice SMurfs you got there, and i usually dont like the SMurfs. The Blue is nice and crisp.

It will probably be at east 1 full battle company, plus some of 9th and 10th companies, too. I have alot of stuff. Just have to justify building it all, with all the marine players here. I'd rather fight against them than be a sheep.

Don't you also have a bunch of rhino chassis that you made magnatized to switch between whatever you wanted. I remember seeing something like that in a thread but now im having trouble finding it again.

I have 12-15 rhinos. I haven't started them yet. I will be magnetizing the predators.

In the middle of trimming mouldlines off 30 sternguard, 20 tactical marines, and 2 dreads. This should get me to a playable force.

I will throw a couple pictures of what I'm thinking with my Sternguard, tomorrow.

The pictures he posted do NOT do justice to what they REALLY look like. Well, marneus for example. I broke him and he hasn't fixed him yet :( Sorry KP.

For my Sternguard.....

I'm making 3 squads of 10. 8 to have combi-meltas and 2 to have combi-flamers. I bought 30 commander boxes, yes stupidly insane, but who cares.

I'm going to use SM Commander box legs, torso, cape (on every other one), combi melta or combi flamer. From devastator box the signum and head. From other various boxes things like auspexes, bolt pistols, and other gear. Check the picture and offer your opinions.

Will they look to gaudy and overweighted with signum? I want to use signum asthe targeter, instead of scopes on bolters. My thought is Sternguard should be geared up to show their prowess with many ammos types and expert shooting.

You are indeed insane. But that's a good thing here on Dakka so....

Sternguard with signums, it makes sense, but might seem a bit odd with so many of them in the same squad. I'd blue tac them on to see what you think of them before you go along with the final gluing. It might just feel overweight with all of them.

btw, everything else is looking great. I'm definitely going to have to pick up a few drop pods in the future for my Grey Death Legion ^_-.

Nothing is set in stone. I have thought how it could possibly look silly to have all those signums out there.

On 30 boxes of commanders.....I needed the bits. Warstore didn't have the quanity I needed, nor did other bits stores. I checked costs on the very limited ebay auctions, not pretty. So it was a no brainer for me.

For all you playas out there gasping at the sheer amount of cash being thrown at this project. Cry!

After further discussion with my other play group....

They thought the signum on every Sternguard would look gaudy. They, also, said I should do all the sternguard in Mk VI Corvus armor to show the age of the veterans.

I will try to get some figs together with a picture by Tuesday.
