Hello,

Well everyone i thought it was time to show my kroot since its a WIP, normally i forget to post the continuation of these projects like my blackhawk a while back, but i swear i'll continue with this one haha !

Anyway, I started my Kroot army with a small killteam wich are below, you may notice some red lines that seem random and messy, they're markings for kills, see when me and my mate play we both use a killteam and base the grunts controller on who roles the highest, normally that leaves a very unbalanced side sometimes which i found out when i was getting terrible roles all game ! The ones with the marks managed to kill every single brute on the board almost, those that are marked are the 2 hounds, the shaper (tyranid helm) the power hammer shaper and the standard kroot. Anyway back on to the point here they are

The A team ! lol

Kroot sniper and Kroot gun (heavy guy)

shaper and the other sniper

the hounds

The power shaper and the other kroot

Ok with that over i now move onto the Kroot tracker kindred mounted on cold ones ! i stole the idea from Typhoon, (cheers for the secret to painting the skin man!)

i've only managed to base all of them and Prime one with the cold one half done !

the squad

Here is the cold one, now the thing is i need some assist on the scales colour, as the kroot are black skinned the scales been black wouldnt provide the contrast im looking for so i would like to ask for suggestions of colours for their scales !

All critisms and comments welcome ( i insist on them as it improves my skills)

All the best
Wolf

P.S
Oh by the way the Cold one is very much WIP

Cool, I paint kill markings and tribal patterns on my kroot too, the cold ones are brilliant, but instead of changing the cold ones clours I would change the kroots colour scheme as your cold one is extremely well painted. I'd suggest a mottled blue.

1) id say go for red scales on the cold ones, or maybe orange, then they would defo stand out

2) i love kroot models in general, the hounds are one of my favourite models in 40k

3) the tracker kindred look good

4) im in love with your avatar, its so cute

My own little happy place

I love the use of cold ones( the non-slowed cold ones) They look great. I'm not sure what color to use so you can just play around with color schemes until you find one. But them look good better than my friends gray kroot.

I tried being normal but it's boring so now I'm back to being insane

I've been considering doing a small Kroot =][=munda warband in the future and you've got some interesting ideas here that could definitely come in handy ^_-.

Nice conversions, simple and to the point.

I think the hammer could have done with a more straight handle instead of the normal kroot rifle stock though. A bit more integration of the bits and you have a winner here.

Hello ! With my swift recovery form my illness i have had little time to get much painting done, well none to be quite honest !
with the arrival of our new family friend (a puppy) and other family members being at work or on holiday it has been down to me to look after him all day
and almost everyday leaving me no time for modelling painting of any kind.

But that is not the update, the update is the fact that my makeshift kroot army had won a glorious victory (for money no doubts) against some spacemarines !

The objective was to destroy his venerable dreadnaught which had to escape fom one side of the board to the other,
His army consisted (vaguely) of a 6 man scout squad with sniper rifles, some well customised CC marines with power weapons and combat shields,
his venerable dreadnaught with an assault cannon and his command squad,

i had taken 3, 10 man kroot squads, a council shaper squad (3 shapers and 2 hounds) 5 tracker kindred and a geater knarloc

I have no pictures unfortuinatly but im going to generalise the happenings of each turn

i used 1 kroot squad as a sacrafice to hold up his force which worked rather well with most dying and 4 getting into combat, with the shaper who lasted all of 2 seconds because he was surounded, (oh this would be a good time to mention were on 4th edition rules going for the 5th thursday),

Keeping 1 kroot squad and the Greater Knarloc in cover on the left flank and the trackers, roughly in the middle as they could cover a vast area due to their 12" movement
and on the right flank i had my council and another kroot squad.

The second turn brought around a large combat with the customised CC's with the council squad and a kroot squad d slowly but surely i took them out with good cc roles bad his bad armour saves, and invulnrable saves and some power weapons handy

I lost a few men in that combat round and some sucessful shooting rounds , he made a desperate run for the finnish, but the gnarloc luckily got into CC with his dreadnaught before he could make it and after several rounds of intesive CC the Dreadnaught was eventually exploded in CC which ment a glorious victory for me !

He had lost all his troops from constant barrage of kroot rifles rapid firing, into his scouts and command squad Which he had decided to run behind the dreadnaught in a desperate attempt to save it from the knarloc, all this ment they did not last long,

I had finnished with 1 kroot squad another at half strength, the council with all its members and no hounds a ganrloc on 1 wound, and the brave lone shaper of the tracker kindred

All in all a good start to the army
and maybe a good future for the army.
im hoping to get some painting done today as a family member is off work today so i ave a break from puppy duty, i shall try and get some painting done.

At last an actual update ! Huzzah !!!

I managed to get an entire squad of kroot done (10 man) and i managed to finish of the shaper of the tracker kindred and his cold one

That is the squad with a few close ups to give you an idea of how they look

and here is the tracker shaper,

And lastly i fixed upa very simple and crued scope for the hunting rifles, its constructed of the barrel of a kroot rifle and the muzzle of a lasgun ^^

Well tahts it so far, all critisms and comments are welcome and infact wanted !

All the best
Wolf
