Firstly the russ looks TOO Imperial still.
Secondly your boyz need some wash or ink work done to bring them details out.
THIRDLY I have to say your on the right track. Other then those couple things honestly your doing good work!
hmm... I just noticed your russ is assembled backwards was the intentional?

As long as it's big and has lotsa dakkadakka its fine.
although I have to agree with kingcracker it looks too imperial ad some plasticard plating to it failing that cardboard.

On the ork: Oof. I know it's your first model, but you've missed quite a few spots. Concentrate on getting smooth coverage for each color before moving on to the next.

Add some sharp bitz and some gubbins and it will be good to go, although I would reposition the las-turret a bit, it looks kinda silly as it is now. =p

I agree with KingCracker: make the thing more Orky and you should also do something about that odd-sticking lascannon on the front ( it is facing to the sky!?) If you have done some modifications on it, would you then show us some pics of it?
